yeah he's pretty good. the only flaws I have with Jon are he seems a bit more descriptive when he's on the TV side and he hardly lets his analysts get a word in edgewise. that's why I prefer Cole's dad or Dave Fleming , at least *THEY* let Kruk or his numerous subs *TALK*

I recall listening to Vin's voice over the radio when I was a kid. He has a natural knack for keeping his listeners focused onto the game, even when they can't see the play-by-play. He never stutters, or stammers while speaking. How does anyone do that? Vin must be super-human.

You're right about how he calls the action. A while back he called a foul ball that was caught by a guy wearing radio headphones, so Jon asked on air if he was listening, and the guy nodded yes. The game was slow, so between the action Jon spent a couple innings asking the guy yes or no questions about his life. Hilarious.

Jon Miller is a great announcer. There is no debate about who the greatest sports announcer is. Imagine being the best at something and then doing it for 67 years. What vin scully did is almost incomprehensible. I understand that to most people he does not mean anything because they just didn’t hear him every day the way people in los angeles did. If i could describe what he means to the city i would, but its indescribable. He means more to los angeles then kobe bryant, magic johnson, fernando valenzuela, and wayne gretzky put together.

He can weave intricate stories about ANYTHING into a baseball broadcast and never miss a beat. He might do Vin impressions, talk about the Himalayas, or go on for 2 innings about his iPod, and the game still continues to flow with brilliant descriptions, insights, perfect intensity, and of course, genius humor. As a Padres fan, I enjoy listening to Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr on the radio broadcast. Don Orsillo yells too much on TV. My favorite radio broadcast teams are both the Yankees (Rickie Ricardo/Francisco Rivera) and Mets (Max Pérez/Néstor Rosario), you can really feel their emotions without excessive yelling. Love listening to Jon Miller, possibly the best broadcaster in baseball. And used to listen the Rays with Andrew Freed and the late Dave Wills. Hate the Dodgers but Pepe Yñiguez does a good job on Spanish radio. And the Tigers may have the worst wherever you tune them in.
