John was my teacher when I as 10 years old boy started to play on piano. I was listening his style and solos again and again. Today when I am 60 and have 5 top syntesizers, my sound No.1 is Hammond organ and every day I play for a while improvisations in Johns style. Thank You, great musician. R.I.P

Since I was kid I had this dream to meet John, I've seen him playing live 3 times in Brazil but always wanting to meet him. Your comment about having been his student, strangely gave me a relief in this immense desire to meet him. It was not possible (for now...) Thank you very much for sharing this story!

When Jon Lord starting playing the line from Adagio at 4:12 , chills literally went down the back of my neck. RIP, you are truly a legend and will be one of the best organ/piano players I've ever heard.

+KeithTheGuitarist101 I agree - but the other parts are pretty amazing too :) Even if I prefer Ritchie on the guitar, you gonna have to recognize the best band(in my opinion) with another guitar player and singer that's not what he used to be- but still they delivered!

Would've just loved to have seen and heard a 3 way composition with Keith Emerson, Jon Lord and Rick Wakeman alternating. That would be terrific as they all went for it.

Listening in 2021. Saw them twice in Germany in the 70s and 90s. Sorry to say that Blackmore fit better in the band than Morse, but they were still great later.

Мне 71 год, впервые услышал DP в 1968 году на их третьем альбоме. Эта группа стала моей самой любимой. На всю жизнь.

Мы, вероятно, ровесники, Игорь. Мне 63 и с 15 лет слушаю и люблю классический хард-рок (DP, LZ, UH, BS, PF, ELP и подобные). Играл на ударных в рок-группе в 70-х и 80-х. А с великим коллегой Джона Лорда - Кеном Хенсли знаком с 2004-го года, фотографировал его на концертах и в жизни в Петербурге, переписывался по e-mail. Когда узнал о его кончине 4-го ноября 2020-го, я осиротел. Кен был потрясающим музыкантом, композитором и человеком! Он успел узнать (я преподносил ему на концерте бумажный вариант на ватмане А2 и в цифровом формате по e-mail), что один из "сумасшедших" его российских поклонников намерен собрать двухместный гибридный гипер спорт-кар с гордым именем URIAH HEEP "Demons and Wizards". Есть проекты трёх-местного спорткара DEEP PURPLE, и пятиместного кроссовера LED ZEPPELIN. Дмитрий. Санкт-Петербург.

Это неслыханная борзость и жлобская наглость - назвать себя, ПОДЗАБОРНЫХ НЕУМЕХ, НИКЧЕМУШНИКОВ - рокмузыкантами!!! Ненавижу этих корявых самозванцев! Один Ричи Блэкмор, или Джимми Пэйдж "ВЛЁГКУЮ" переиграет тысячу этих корявых гребенщиковых, макаревичей и прочую шантрапу! Это с какими-то "с горе пополам" гитаристами! Клавишников НИ ХРЕНА НЕТ! Барабанщиками И НЕ ПАХНЕТ !!! (кто хоть намёком может играть как Ян Пэйс, Джон Боннэм, Карл Палмер? Петь НЕ МОЖЕТ НИКТО !!! Вокального, певческого Голоса НЕТ НИ У КОГО В СОВКЕ! (из ЭТИХ, "российских рокмузыкантов"). Можно только вспомнить Великого Градского и Альберта Асадулина! (но они отдельно - "мухи отдельно, котлеты отдельно"). В композиции и в аранжировке "доморощенные рокеры" - тоже ПОЛНЫЙ НОЛЬ. А мы в 76-м, 77-м играли настоящий ХАРД-РОК (Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin - фрагменты их композиций и свои композиции в их стиле, но с текстами на РУССКОМ ЯЗЫКЕ, которые сочиняли сами, либо брали чьи-то стихи (в частности, "Слово о полку Игореве")! Помню: "О, Баян - счастливый соловей, приступая к вещему напеву! Вёл рассказ о битве наших дней, пел, скача по мысленному древу! Если б ты, взлетев под облака, Нашу славу с дедовскою славой, Так прославил внуков на века Как прославил сына Святослава!"

Обхохотаться 🤣🤣🤣 для примера я попала на жлоба ( рокера, извините пожалуйста), который выродил интерпретацию тюба 80х группы Kingdom Come. Я потеряла речь! И может надо уточнить раз и навсегда что НЕТ НИКАКОГО РОКА КРОМЕ АНГЛИЙСКОГО И АМЕРИКАНСКОГО!!! Поэтому и звучит он на английском языке. DEEP purple had a reputation for being the Loudest band in the world and i went to a purple concert 50 years ago and they were so Loud my ears rang for 2 days after the concert finished

Да, нам несказанно повезло с эпохой. Классический хард-рок конца 60-х, начала и середины 70-х сформировал меня на всю жизнь !!! С 15-ти лет (с1973 года) ВСЮ СВОЮ ЖИЗНЬ я человек рока! Слушаю и играю на ударных (с 1975-го в рок-группе).

Stein Sæther I am a keyboard player. Jon Lord will always be my all time favorite musician. He proved that one need not choose between rock and classical, that one can do both. And in his case, did both very very well. The other keyboardist to do both very well was Keith Emerson, my next favorite musician.

Amazing? Remarkable band .you fool no one. Black might, stormbringer, highway star. The list goes on. Blackmore Ian paice, Jon lord , giant, the singer,organmelody, drumming.! Any album. Man what a great band. Will listen to the day I die.! Love the songs The bands period.

Probably the 1,456,765 time I’ve watched this. First off, it’s an amazing song but Jon... well there are words fitting enough his genius. He’s tickling those keys for sure up there in the Heavens with all the greats

Keith who.? Jon lord could play anything and was in many groups, done concertos ,and made some of the greatest rock albums, and is known worldwide, when was the last time you saw so many Keith Emerson videos on here? Ha ha ha

So underrated best rock keyboardist in the world ever. Wakman and Emerson close 2nds. He the best ever and invented the Hammond thru the Marshall's that copied to this day. An innovator also we owe that sound to him and him alone that so many bands use even today. RIP 🙏
