MexSov I noticed Niko has a tendency to respect sincere and honest people. Even if they aren't like him or if they've done unsavory stuff, Niko likes it when a person shows an honest aspect of themselves. Roman and Brucie, for example, put on a personal and live with their heads in the clouds. He gets annoyed with Brucie antics after a while and gets more sarcastic with him.

I love how in this game it shows how Organized Crime and the Government and CIA work hand in hand with each other, in such a smart and subtle way

I think Gravelli came to like Niko because of how honest he is, eg: the bleeding the city dry line. Which may be why he also hated the Pegorino's because they were massive ass-kissers

People don’t realize it but gravelli was the most important character of the whole game. He single handedly got niko what he was looking for all along. Really disappointing he didn’t play a bigger part in the story or even the GAMBETTI family as a whole. The gambinos in real life are the most powerful mob family in NY and always have been. Bring back LIBERTY CITY rockstar we need it imagine how amazing nyc would be in a new gta

I liked the part (in second mission) where John's guard didn't let Niko in, but then Gravelli said "Ahhhh, Niko. Good to see you.".

Despite Mr. Gravelli being a very powerful criminal, he actually wants to get rid of all the real criminals out there trying to seize power before his passing. Although he has done many bad things in his life, he tries to do what is right for himself and for other people, eliminating the worst criminals rather than obtaining personal gain for his own gang. Rest in peace, Mr. Gravelli. We will miss you.

It would be awesome for Rockstar to do a Jon Gravelli spin-off in the old liberty city from the 50’s, like in godfather. With the old casino in Alderney still open and full of glamour and powerful people.

The guard at the door was my favourite character in the game, I wish they had done more with him.

When you compare and contrast Niko's first introduction to Pegorino and Gravelli, you can easily see why Niko has respect for the latter, but not the former. Pegorino tries to make an impression on Niko with the tough guy routine, and talks in circles, thinking he can play mind games, which obviously does not work on Niko. In contrast, Gravelli understood Niko was being sarcastic with his "bleed the city dry" remark, and unlike Pegorino, he does not beat round to bush to convince Niko to work for him. He knows Niko's capabilities, and his offer was straightforward: work for him (and by extension. the IAA via the ULP Agent), in exchange, the IAA will get the cops off Niko's back, as well as locate Darko Brevic. Between how these two mob bosses present themselves, it's not a hard choice to decide who to work with.

Think one of the reasons Niko likes Gravelli is because the guy isn't a massive hypocrite even though he is one of the most powerful men in liberty city. Unlike everyone else he works for.

Gravelli was the OG OG Gta character, wisdom and an unlimited perspective on humanity, crime and longevity

"But if it wasn't me, it would be just someone else. So it might as well be me." You can see that he knows the world needs balance. So even if he didn't do the "bad" things he did. Someone else would've done it which could be worse than what he did. He can be considered necessary evil / neutral evil. (not really evil at all).

I hope we work for him in GTA VI I met a random girl in GTAV with Franklyn on Taxy Business missions and she said her father worked with the Gambetis and I was like 'whaat'? GTA is my favourite thing digital entertainment. I play it since kid.

I was always confused if his name was Gravelli or Gambetti. It's the family that was called Gambetti and Gravelli took over but it was so confusing lol.

You can’t have a game set partly in New Jersey without making a Sopranos reference. Even Jimmy Pegorino looks like Frank Vincent (Salvatore Leone and Phil Leotardo).

When I played GTA 4 for a first time, after "The Entourage" first cutscene, I cried so hard that as Irish people would say, I "cried all water out of my head". I felt so bad for Gravelli

Wow awesome video. Jon wasn't one of my favorite characters, but this video shows he really is helpful to the story!

Fun fact on GTA 4: When you play the mission where Manny gets killed by Elizabeta... When the trunk opens showing the body's...you can get out the car and close the trunk! Niko says so stupid one liners :)

Pegorino cant defeat any family they managed to defend themselves from Ancelottis and Pavanos but they are by far weaker than any of the 5 LC families

Don’t know if you ever got your answer but in GTA V there’s a random event regarding the daughter of one of the members of the Gambetti family and that’s what the reference is bc the daughter asks whichever protagonist saved her if they’ve ever heard of the Gambetti Crime Family, and basically her dad testified and they went into witness protection

I wish we had more missions from him
