Smith is an amazing addition to this playgroup. As said before chemistry at the table is really, really important and you guys really nail it. Thank you for the upload! Also: "I just put this card in the deck because it's pretty" is on point. And I love Esmonds "Yea, I'll forget the trigger" and a few seconds later he does. Classic.

You guys do a wonderful job of addressing and reacting to rules issues. Commander is complex and you deal with the inevitable issues really well. Its a good example for gameplay out in the wild.

So the swat can change the targets but esmond can decline to pay the ward yes ?

FYI - When the Skirk Prospector died the first time, It should have come back with either a +1/+1 or a -1/-1 since Persist and Undying are separate triggers and whatever one resolves first will remove it from the graveyard. Also when the Skirk Prospector came back, it's a different object with no memory of what happend to it's previous incarnation, so it would not have Persist or Undying. Still love the game and all of your energy. Thanks for the great content!

Great game! I thing I wanna compliment is the excellent editing in every episode. The camera closeups, the fast pacing back and forth between the cameras, cards getting magnified and small animations for damage & destruct effects. It's 10/10!

I give a big thumbs up to Smith for having the mini. I love the idea of using minis for tokens in person. Not as goo for me on webcam since I loose a whole dimension.

Let's gooo, wanted to see some more gameplay of Jolene after that showing on Game Knights a while ago.

That is quite the refreshing take on dragons with Smith's Jolene deck. As for Gabriel's Gut//Haunted deck, I feel like I would want to find the goblins and shamans with the spiciest ETB's and death triggers, along with Warstorm Surge and others. I do enjoy the exile workaround with Paul's Mishra (Mak) deck to satisfy the exile effect. I'm under the impression there's likely more spicy strategies in Esmond's Lathiel deck, but life-gain doesn't tend to speak to me outside of black, Orzhov, and Mardu.

what an amazing game. it reminded me of the game i had with Chatterfang and i only had 3 lands the whole game but was able to get old gnawbone out early and was making so many treasures and squirrels. so much fun to watch you guys. cant wait for the next game!

I loved the Baldurs Gate set, I did Rakdos Gut first thing and I love it. She’s also good in a Yasova deck to help sac other people’s creatures and Gut Them Alive

Why didn't Smith use treasures to activate Scourge's firebreathing when he had Reaver Cleaver equipped? You would deal more damage, and then, you could have made back the treasures and an additional one from Jolene. He could have definitely been more aggro. However, I still think he was a great addition to the group.

Just started watching this channel today. Loved these videos. You guys should host prerelease events or events in general 👀

Hey guy's! Idk if this was caught yet at 15:56 when Patron of the Arts was killed, Smith should have triggered her effect, which along with Joylene, should have netted 2 treasure tokens!

Really looking forward to when you have a new episode, and today is the day again ;)

A couple minor things that were missed: The goblins wouldn't have kept Persist or Undying after they were sacrificed once, since then they are new game objects. And Teferi's Protection also gives the player Protection from Everything, so he can't even be attacked by the Solemn Simulacrum. Still, that was a fun game! It's always fun seeing how much you guys are enjoying the game and your jokes and banter.

protection doesn't prevent you from getting attacked, you just wont take any damage Protection from (value) means: it cant be damaged, enchanted or equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything that is (value).

With the Reaver cleaver you can sacrifice the treasures to make her bigger and you'd get them back from her doing more damage.

Just built a Mishra deck! Always cool to see Paul playing so I can take notes!!

I feel Gabriel - I like midrange decks and often watch everyone else play the first 5 turns just trying to lay low and avoid attention. edit: I usually listen while I work but this game was so fun that I ended up watching the whole thing.

When you are playing at our tables then when you are playing your commander = boardwipe. If you have 3 creatures on the board = Boardwipe. If you are scratching yourself at the head = Boardwipe.

I'm only around 15 minutes in so far but that is not how persist and undying work together.

42:30 Just FYI, Paul's Wurmcoil Engine would NOT survive the combat. Smith had given all his dragons +2/+0 with Lathliss's ability earlier in the turn. I get that it was late in the game and lots of variables were flying around, but it seems like it might have significantly changed the game's math. Anyway, happy Lunar New Year!

Quest for the Goblin lord gives creatures you control +2/+0 not just goblins. 26:58

Finally, someone else playing Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa. Really think this form of Mishra has been slept on. I built the deck abound looting effects, artifact storm, and Worldgorger Dragon and it's a BEAST.
