DCS tv Yeah I agree with you and it’s in my top 4 favourite movies list as well as Joker. I’m saying though there are many more great films that they need to watch because there are others equally good. For them to say they’re both the greatest in Hollywood history is going a bit too far.

Some people claim Joker was a Taxi Driver rip-off; as far as I can tell, Phillips was at least HEAVILY influenced by TD. I mean, the read suit @ 1:45... Holy SHIT, didn't Arthur wear that to his mother's funeral in the cut content?! Seriously, the TD influences are right there! Makes Joker feel like a twisted love letter to the older film... Definitely enjoying this! Addendum: Hell, in the very first few seconds of this video! Travis, wearing a checkered shirt...next shot, Arthur's kitchen has checkered wallpaper. Alana, these parallels feel so on purpose from Phillips, I fucking love it! And thanks for bringing us a beautifully done edit on them! 💗

oh my god, you got that absolutely right! Unfortunately a lot of people act like it's a bad thing that Joker was influenced by Taxi Driver but taking inspiration from old masterpieces doesn't make it a rip off at all! I appreciate and enjoy the little nods to King Of Comedy and Taxi Driver so much. It makes me love Joker even more, it's the masterpiece of our generation and we needed a movie like that. EatingTheCannibals No, Todd Phillips and Scott Silver wrote the script for the film. Martin Scorsese was only going to be the executive producer for the film and nothing else.

Montaholic but here’s the thing aside from the chemicals we don’t really know much about joker’s origin story I think the closest thing to a joker origin story aside from the movie is Alan Moore’s the killing joke

I love both movies fun fact Jeremiah valeska(joker)from the Gotham TV serie have a gun that works exactly like Travis gun from taxi driver

I still remember seeing joker for the first time, watching him play pretend with his gun made me immediately think "Taxi driver." The dark, slowburn atmosphere also adds to the realisation that the movie was heavily inspired. What makes it even better is De-niro himself is in the movie!....Before being shot and killed by fleck.

I can't get enough of this! Absolute amazing work here

Even you might not believe me, I knew Hybrid for a loong loong time, and even I`m a Metalhead, I`m also an electronic music freak, and lemme tell you this is one of your best Works. Salutes to you my friend!!!!! This song sounds similar to Crazy Boy from Hednoize, which makes me want a Patrick Bateman, Joker and Travis vid. Louis Bloom the sociopath and main character from Nightcrawler would also fit great.

This is perfect, the parallels are great, the song of choice is amazing and the connections between the voice over (my favorite 0:50 - 0:52) are awesome and some of the transitions are breathtaking. Awesome job Alana!

Yeah the creater of Joker was inspired by a few movies with Robert De Niro in them. If you watch "The King of Comedy" you will realize that Joker wears almost the same suit in the end De Niro wears in the movie. I interpreted the movie (Joker) like this: if it is really true that Joker made the whole story up during his stay in the asylum, he just mixed the plots of the De Niro movies together 😂
