Joker Bank Heist Mask weathering

Quick video of the final weathering on my Joker Bank Heist mask. I used a black sharpie to better define the mouth, black mesh to the eyes, a few scuffs with sandpaper all over, some deep scratches with a small flat screwdriver, a rub down with used coffee grounds to dye and darken the etched resin and a few brushed highlights with black eyeliner (new trick I discovered) and its way more movie accurate. I am pleased :)

Brooo nice job customizing the mask, it really looks like a replica from the movie, "The Dark Knight", this has got to be one of the most iconic masks out there.

Ian Aldrich Sobrepeña for mine I scratched it up with sandpaper in various areas and dug jagged lines in it with a small screwdriver, then used coffee grounds to stain it a darker white, but ended up using dirt to make it more grittier, I’m going to finally be uploading a new vid that explains my process along with how it looks now :) look for it this next week on my channel!!

That's a lot of process! :D I hope you include in your future videos of how you put a white strap on this mask and ALSO how you apply covers on the eyes...

Yes!! I will be making a tutorial video, or at least an updated one on how i made it look this way, I've been swamped with work and come current cosplay projects, but i know several of you guys have asked me to and still haven't gotten time to film it, lol :P

YES! I've been meaning to film an updated video of this cosplay, I moved shortly after I posted this video and it got packed away, but I'm pulling it back out and have been tweaking it some more for an upcoming con :)

Where did you get that bust-like stand to hold the mask? It looks very similar to the one in the movie!!

Are ya talking the head that the mask is on? It’s just a styrofoam head on a small base with a metal rod :)

The original base came from a Bre Toys Batman cowl that I bought a number of years ago
Hello, great videos on this Joker heist costume. I'm making one myself and i just got the exact mask as you. Could you please make a quick tutorial on how you weather it? i'm also following the evolution on your costume and hope to see it finished and you wearing it. P.s: Are you going to use the black elastic bands or use a white one like in the original movie? Kind regards.

Cristiano Santos yes, I can! I'll give a quick overview of the steps I went through as well as a few photos of the completed cosplay, which turned out awesome and was a huge hit at the con back in May!!

Cristiano Santos in regards to the elastic bands, I removed all mine, plus the rivets and filled those in with epoxy and painted over them and attached a wide white band across the back and weathered it as well
