Fun fact: Fairouz Ai who voices Jolyne had to go to the hospital because, during this scene, she was yelling out her lines so much that her throat was found with various black spots which were diagnosed as internal bleeding. Luckily she recovered and was able to finish recording her lines for this scene.

It was such a good twist, even HE didn't know he was a Stand User! He's chalking up his new ability to summon meteors as him just being _THAT_ awesome!

Stone Ocean has so much close combat it's actually refreshing to see it. Before Part 6 it was just 200 IQ plays and punchy punchy, very less close ranged fights, now it's the perfect mix of all of them And that toe nail pull was PAINFUL OH MAN

He’s abusive with inmates out of hatred for criminals, which granted doesn’t help his case, but doesn’t really make him evil. Plus he almost calmed down even with the effects of survivor, and showed Jolyne respect. He might have truly been relatively chill.

Just seeing a human fight bare fisted against the protag is such an unnusual sight in Jojo, sure he was under the effect of a stand, but the whole thing felt more hardcore when real fists are flying and Jolyne is doing everything to try and keep the guy down

I always loved that Jolyne is not only a good stand user, but she can scrap on her own merits. With the rough past she’s had, she’s grown into a tough martial artist that can handle close combat. But she innovates by enhancing her strength with Stone Free and using her smarts to outwit opponents. Love love LOVE this fight, especially the absolutely vicious “GAME SET” line.

@@beefusdoesstuff5194 I don’t personally see Stone Ocean as more or less interesting than your average part. I think the plot builds upon itself pretty well. That’s just me though, I think this is the part she fits the most in.

My favorite part both in the manga and the anime for this fight is when Jolyne yells “Game Set”. The fight is so visceral that by the end you have to be hyped that you managed to win such a hardcore battle.

5:30 this little clip of the guard recovering and jolyne countering with a block to a kick was clean

I liked the subversion of the eccentric person with the unusual hair turns out not the be the stand user but it instead the unassuming guy who ends up becoming one of the most intimidating villains in the series. This also helps demonstrate the power of survivor as it turned a seemingly normal person into an absolute monster

Also if it weren't for the fact that he was a Stand Newbie. It seemed to be implied that his Stand powers only awakened very recently, even when he becomes aware of his powers, he doesn't seem to understand how he's suddenly able to summon meteors from the sky. You could chalk that up to him being under the influence of Survivor, but really, even under the hate plague, he was for sure that he was still an ordinary human. He even chalked up his sudden meteor attraction powers as him just being badass enough to do that now!

The way Jolyne screams is so cool and interesting. It's exactly how I imagined it sounding like in my head when reading the manga.

Honestly one of my fav fights in the series

These are the best fights in all jojo. When i was reading the manga it was the most exciting, captivating arcs because of Jolyn's strength of will and character, the brutality and unfairness of the whole situation. Nobody among JoJos even had it that hard and nobody came out triumphantly despite everything that piled up against her except for Jolyn. THAT is THE bizarre adventures of all time

When i first read this fight in the manga 2 years ago, it easily became my favorite fight in jojo at the time, and honestly the adaptation didnt disappoint at all, honestly i'd say that this one was even better than the manga.

all the fights in the ward were really slow for me though. i didn't mind it when i first read it, but man if i could compare it, its like going through the tediously long tutorials in a zelda game before you can finally get to the fun parts again. tolerable at best when you first play the game, but a barrier if you ever want to replay it. i actually barely remember any of the fights in the ward ngl. the anime certainly made it more fast paced and tolerable though. my personal favorite is bohemian rhapsody. but hey, we have our opinions, and there aren't many people who like anything from the high security arc, so any love it gets means something!

This is one of my favorite fights in Jojo! Normally jojo fights are about keeping your distance and outsmarting your enemy but this one was just pure CQC with cool ass stands thrown in!

This fight was one of my favorites in the manga. The anime made it look just as badass and violent as I remember it being.

The fact that the other guard actually managed to get him to calm down with just his words at first has to be an achievement.

i barely remember this fight from the manga, or anything from the high security arc really, but the fast pace and all those cool animated fight scenes really made this fight a whole 'nother level and might actually be my favorite. it wasn't your typical recite the bible after every punch in jojo, it was constant fast paced action and i'm all for it.

honestly I know this chapter was written 20 years ago, but I feel like it would've been way better as an all out brawl, like Pucci had all of these stand users here to kill Jolyne but since survivor clouds their judgement you just have 25 stand users going crazy attacking everyone

I 100% agree, easily some of the best hand to hand choreography in the series, and the anime did not disappoint. I felt Jolyne vs Pucci was a little underwhelming compared to this fight in terms of animation honestly

All jokes aside, seeing two buff dudes fight gives me nostalgia, we haven't seen anything like that ever since part 3!

The fact that this guy was able to tank and keep up with stone free, a stand with A in strength and B in speed(E is the average human parameters), show's how being an experienced combatant is important as a stand user. Take bucciarati for example

tbh all stand users are automatically twice as more durable than an average human, literally every major or minor villan and protagonist with a few exceptions had sustained insane injuries in their fights and still were able to at least talk without grunting in pain and move. But still, I'll tip my hat to Westwood for being one of the physically strongest minor villains in Jojo.

And they at the very least had an idea why they all have magic powers all of a sudden, and know in great detail how they work. Westwood didn't even have THAT! he just chalked his new abilities up to him being _just that badass!_ He genuinely did not know what he was, _and he almost iced the protagonist!_

Hand to hand combat in jojo feels refreshing man, a bit of strength and force for once after those typical 400 IQ plays, cool.

This fight was so damn brutal. But it wasn’t even JJBA’s most brutal fight. Animated, anyway, Doppio VS Metallica is still crowned that, so far.

Because their stands are overpowered, jolyne has one of the weakest stands so of course she needs to be smart and creative in using it. You can see the hard work she put in these fights more than other jojos

the stands are inside the users body so a normal punch from jolyne has her stand punch in it. It's like conquerors haki from one piece on the recent luffy vs kaidou episodes. It's just invisible because the stand is inside the body

Araki doesnt get enough credit for this and while it is a fictional world, i really do enjoy how he depicted how screwed up the prison system (specifically the american prison system) is.
