Vocal texture is PART of acting, not every character will sound the same so having those subtle differences in a performance adds a lot: we have false chords pretty much exactly for this purpose. Plus considering stuff how she literally has to do an UwU voice with Gwess and how she softens her delivery considerably for embarrassing moments such as with Weather and Ermes: it’s obvious she isn’t just trying to ‘sound cool’. She sounds like what her character is: a 19 year old girl stuck in a situation she doesn’t understand trying desperately to gain some degree of control and power in a world that wants nothing more than to bring her down. She wasn’t just brought into this role because she’s a fan: it’s because she knows this character inside and out.

@@siats142 I’ll never understand people like you who act like subs are the pure “intentional” form and anything other than Japanese voice acting is wrong. Why yes subs are technically better because the lip syncing and other details are designed for Japanese, but also technically these characters shouldn’t even have voices. The “intentional” version of any manga that gets an anime is to read the manga. Reading it is the most pure and intentional way to experience an anime, considering that animation isn’t considered when writing a manga. Especially with Jojo things like color in the manga aren’t pure either. Sub or dub just comes down to preference , not that English doesn’t fit and Japanese does.

Yep. In the manga she said Mickey Mouse's birthday, but since Warner Bros Japan had a hand in making the anime, they changed it to Bugs Bunny.
