In the dub version of the finale, when Joseph does his prediction thing, instead of saying the line, Kars says “How do you always know?” Then he gets hit by the rocks and says the line, almost as if the universe itself was punishing him for not saying what Joseph predicted

Honestly? He didn't do too bad. I don't really like a lot of his roles, but two of them that I do like is him as Caeser and him as Inosuke. Caeser because he nails it surprisingly well, and Inosuke because I think he just decided to go full gremlin for that role, and it makes me laugh to imagine Kirito as a half brainless berserker.

Dub Joseph is just chaos and he’ll always be numbah 1 imo. One bit I loved in the dub more than the original was the final “your next line is” with Kars. His response of “How do you always know?!” To Jojo’s last line trick is just the perfect cherry on top to his defeat

Honestly, Caeser being voiced by Bryce Papenbrook still feels so weird to me, probably because I'm so used to his voice coming out of more bland looking characters like Eren from AoT and Kirito from SAO.

Man Benjamin Diskin as Joseph is so underrated is one of the most underrated dub roles of all time, dude fit his personality perfectly

Parts 5 and 6 have some great dubbing moments. Part 5 has awkward Italian cursing, and Part 6 gets to drop f-bombs.

Doppio in english is both adorable and hilarious. He calls Risotto an edgy douche. And diavolo, good god. Man has such a powerful voice, and he went all in on that role to the point where I'm pretty sure he might've lost his voice for a bit.

I love how the English version gave him the accent, such a nice touch

⁠@@Random-Legend because Parts 3, 4, and 5 are essentially English interpretations of how they spoke because most characters in those parts don’t speak English, as opposed to Parts 1 and 2 where pretty much everyone speaks English. That’s why we hear their accents. Part 6 didn’t really need any accents because it takes place in America.

Since part 3 onwards, everything is super long and since 2 or 3 episodes have a connected story, maybe doing 2 or 3 episodes per day will help keeping the story connected so that we don't forget what's happening. Just a suggestion that other jojo reactors did.

I'd say more that both CAN be good. Sadly it's not always the case with every anime.

The dub gets better & better with each new Part imo to the point where I'd practically recommend 4 & 6 in that format

The English dub of JoJo is one of the rare animes that can rival the JP dub (another recent one I can think of at the top of my head is Konosuba’s.) While Part 1 doesn’t have too many stand out moments, Jonathan’s ‘Sunlight Yellow Overdrive’ moment in the dub is great. The dub also has quite a lot of notable VAs: Patrick Seitz as Dio, Johnny Yong Bosch as Jonathan, Robbie Daymond as Smokey, and Jamieson Price as Tarkus (Ragna the Bloodedge, Yu Narukami, Happy Chaos, and Heihachi Mishima respectively.) Also, you got a teaser of Joseph in Part 3, who is Raiden’s VA in Mortal Kombat.

This dub feels like watching an abridged series and I love it, I wanna watch the actual dub show now.

Fun fact (and I’m saying this knowing that you’re on Part 3): In terms of languages, Johnathan speaks English, Joseph speaks English, Dio Speaks English, and only Jotaro speaks Japanese. 🤣😂 Also, Ant is Italian?! 😱🤯 Awesome! 🤩 (He’ll *LOVE* part 5 😁)

25:40 Jack duipper’s [YTP] bottle tendency, is a very great video with only 3 minor spoilers that you wouldn’t get unless you watched all of jojo

JoJo dub is not that bad (although there are some legendary VAs in the Japanese one that literally just fit so much more, Kars leg guitar playing is imo just so much better in JP and it follows the sounds shown in the Manga in Japanese - in English it does not fit Kars and sounds rather forced to me, but each to their own). But the major problem unfortunately is the censorship of the names and references that Araki uses. That really subtracts on the experience of Araki wanting to share some RAD music with us, not to mention some of the name changes are kinda...well... Which brings me to, I hope you guys manage to get uncensored subs from Part 4 onwards, because that is the part where Araki starts going WILD with all the music references. Hell, he gets pretty wild already in Part 3, now after watching Hamon Beat Part 3 Music references. I recommend watching Hamon Beat - Musical References in JoJo after each part would be great. And also maybe Debunking Araki Forgot (although he can get quite rallied up at some claims there as some are pretty..eh...just due to people not paying attention, but it does clear up some possible misconceptions you may have about some stuff. Although here and there he does make a sort of a spoiler there, so maybe after Part 6 of JoJo).

-Hopefully, the audio cues them in that "maybe every time they say Requiem they don't mean Chariot Requiem," which the subtitlist likely didn't pick up on. Happened with Santana, can easily happen again. -Parts 4 and 5 _should_ be available on English Netflix. I might need to check again, though.

I thought floozy was a more socially acceptable for a woman who was easy and eager for bedroom activities with the first guy they see.

I can understand wanting to watch Jojo in the original Japanese, but I do hope you get to at least privately do a re-watch in english, because the localization is *chef's kiss*

Enjoy the foreign accents here while you can. They drop them completely from Part 3 onward.

Before you can even safely look at meme compilations (while avoiding manga spoilers) you gotta get real deep into the anime. There's like 164 episodes to catch up on. You've seen the first 26 episodes (out of 190). That's 13%. You might get part 1/2 specific compilations, but there probably isn't a lot (yet).

The thing about the differences between joseph dubbed and subbed are more like netflix fault to change the subtitles kinda

My problem with the dub isn't the Voice Acting, or it "devaluing" memes. My problem is the censorship on Stand (and any character who has a a music based name) names from Parts 4 and on. I won't spoil anything don't worry. Anyway, while atleast in the many versions of Sub where you can atleast hear what the characters say, in the dub, that's not an option. So if you continue doing dub, that's your option, but atleast also listen to the Japanese audio or something for every stand.

A lot of the names have to changed in the English dub for copyright reasons

Cut to part 4 with koichi saying "wowzers"

Unfortunately people didn't enjoy the funny accents the first 2 dubs had, so all subsequent parts don't have them which sucks

As someone who mostly watches English dubs, this is only the beginning of the craziness of the JoJo dubs. One of the best out there, once you get used to the localization. You should check out some more of the English dub, I would recommend it!

6:01 this i imagine is both easy and hard to make a translation for, because you can't really do Japanese Joseph's goofs in English so you gotta make something up, you have unlimited range as long as it fits the time available but you know people will complain that you didn't capture whatever is that they got when they watched Japanese Joseph (jajo if you will) being a clown

At the beginning Smokey and the cops were commenting on JoJo for being a British Foreigner. I think that's why they gave him an accent in the dub.

I know I’m late, but the people who did the dub were fans of Team Four Star. One obvious easter egg is when the baby stand user is panicking, he thinks “Crap baskets!” This is a line used by a couple of characters in Dragon Ball Z Abridged.

Jojos is already so goofy, English Dub doesn't ruin it, cause what is there to "ruin" Also note how Joseph says he hates Japanese Tea, but after having a child with Tomoko, a Japenese woman, he all of a sudden says its great tea. Bro got the racism sucked out of him

Unfortunately they only did funny accents for the Part 1 and 2 dubs. A shame; would've been funny to hear certain later characters with their respective accents.

They really play into him being from England a lot more in the English version.

You should do the same thing as this when you’re done with Kaguya. Finish the Japanese version and then watch the English Dub highlights (unless you want to fully rewatch the show in English dub)

something i'll point out as just a general detail, as it's a suggestion to check out something that goes real balls to the walls nutty fever dream humor, is a show called 'Bobobo-bo Bo-Bobo'. And a missed opportunity in that anime is that in japanese, Bobobo is voiced by Takehito Koyasu, who voices DIO, and in English, is voiced by Richard Epcar, who voices Old Joseph Joestar. though to be honest, the run away gag sounds better in japanese. Speedwagon's english voice actor, Keith Silverstein....yeah ever played Skyrim? Keith voiced Nazeem and Savos Aren too. Kars playing guitar on Lisa Lisa's leg....it sounds like the beginning of dueling banjos....Kars went southern on us!
