Sure hope the Speedwagon Foundation has a good backup generator, because if a power outage kills the lights, this guy escapes. Weakest Pillar Man or not, Santana is still not one to be trifled with.

@Bizarre Walden Most of those Stands wouldn't work, though; Santana can easily break himself out of his stone state (not to mention Josuke has no way of even knowing about it, so that takes it out automatically), he could easily regenerate lost body parts The Hand erases (the guy was a pain for Joseph and Stroheim to fight even while literally only a chest, arms and head), his Pillar Man strength (which > vampires and zombies who can do shit like this --> vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/vsbattles/images/4/44/Untitled113.png/revision/latest?cb=20180524220337 ) would easily be enough to overpower Spice Girl and kill a girl like Trish in one hit even while cushionized.

Has anybody realized that the name of the theme, Rubicon, means making an irrevocable decision, passing a point of no return, just like awakening Santana, which also was irrevocable.. Rubicon also means a bounding or a limiting line, especially one that when crossed commits a person irrevocably The Germans crossed the line when they awakened Santana, and as soon as he began slaughtering the staff of the base, it was too late ; their decision was irrevocable, they crossed the Rubcion..

I cant fend off feelings that poor Santana was a bystander of the entire coflict. Sure, he is an immortal vampire eater and will most likely continue to treat humans like lesser beings, but being suddenly awakened from your stasis to find yourself in a lab only to reveal that this is a research on finding a clue how to kill you and remains of your kin does peaceful understanding highly unlikely. Judging by his first reactions, it took time for him to realize and believe that these humans treat him not like a living god how Aztec did, but like a lab rat instead. Perhaps under different circumstances he would become a valuable ally, since it does not seem like he is truly in Kars' party and would most likely not approve on his decision of wiping all of his species out. His containment in UV chamber likely shows Araki's intention of bringing him back as an anti-hero in future stories, but now its improbable, because he said he abandoned his early aesthetics.

Tbh I feel like Santana had a ton of potential as a character; he's a Pillar Man, which automatically makes him far stronger than virtually any lifeform (even zombies like Tarkus who can lift huge boulders or Dio who can yeet steamrollers), BUT he's weaker than the other Pillar Men and was abandoned by him. Just imagine if Joseph had kept through on his idea of "maybe he's friendly" and talked Santana into joining him against the Pillar Men who left him behind and saw him as a mere guard dog. That way, we could see what happens when two Pillar Men fight (i.e. Santana helps Caesar in a 2-v-1 fight against his former "brother" Whamuu in the hotel rather than Caesar fighting him alone and getting killed) and have Santana realize that these "lowly humans" are indeed capable of standing up to supposed gods like the Pillar Men.

@@mrreyes5004 I don't really like the fact that Araki scrapped all of this established lore because one of his editors came to him and said Hamon was "old" and others saying "there needs to be more Japanese characters in it", he just seems too easily swayed by what others want. Having generic enemy of the week shit in every single part afterwards has completely dampened my enjoyment with this series and I haven't liked any part anywhere close to this. Stands are boring and even after all these years people don't really understand how they work and they're more of a power creep than Hamon ever was. He used all of Part 3 trying to figure out what to do with them, as opposed to Parts 1 and 2 that hit the ground running knowing exactly what they wanted to be about.

@@mooganify Eh, Stands aren't power creep at all. It's literally even a plot point that Stands thate sort of trash (Ratt) can seriously threaten and even defeat immensely powerful Stands (Star Platinum). It's explicitly pointed out by characters like Keicho and Dio Brando that the worth of Stands are more dependent on how they're used rather than their default ability, with Keicho in particular comparing it to amateur drivers in cool cars as opposed to veteran experts in lesser vehicles; Okuyasu is living proof, as his Stand is extremely overpowered yet his incompetence renders it to mid-tier overall. This proven by characters with relatively simple and/or weak powers posing a major threat to and/or even defeating objectively powerful Stands just by using a unique application of their Stand (Giorno VS Cioccolata, Bug-Eaten VS Jotaro, Trish VS Notorious B.I.G, Iggy VS Pet Shop, Kakyoin VS Tower of Grey, etc). This as opposed to Hamon, which is incredibly basic and is only really effective on a short list of monsters (zombies, vampires and the Pillar Men, all of which are extemely rare in the JoJoverse anyway). The fact is that Stands are exciting because they can take literally almost any form - due to their powers and form being based on the personality of their users, which themselves have nearly limitless possibilities just based on basic human nature - while Hamon can't do more than channel sun energy into a limited number of materials. For Pete's sake, it's implicitly showcased numerous times in Part 3 (the first Stand-based Part) that Hamon doesn't cut it as a power system. For instance, Joseph's Hamon doesn't work on Stands (as seen in the Empress fight) and was only effective in removing one flesh bud (which can just as easily be destroyed in natural sunlight as seen with Polnareff, the only other flesh bud victim in Part 3, so it's not like Joseph's Hamon was that crucial there to begin with), and Nukesaku is a vampire just as the ones from Parts 1-2 yet his Standless abilities are mocked and belittled by the human Stand users of Dio's minions (with Nukesaku pointedly being unable to prove them wrong), proving that the vampires who terrorized the heroes in the days of Hamon are now little more than a nuisance in the face of Stand users. Hamon is just too basic and inefficient as a power system, whereas the very nature of Stands grant them far higher versatility and possibilities while still effectively battling power creep (and the only time power creep does happen is against the main JoFoe of the part, but even then that literally only happens at the very end of the Part and it's almost always a basic expansion of the hero's usual powers anyway). I do agree with what you said about Santana and the Pillar Men (I honestly feel like the Rock Humans were an attempt by Araki to remix the Pillar Men with the Diamond is Unbreakable-onwards Stand era of JoJo), but Stands are still superior in every way to Hamon. Sorry, but there's a reason fanart of OC Stands and theorizing about which Stands can do which things is so much more popular and exciting than anything about breathing to make sunlight sparks.

I honestly really like Santana. To me in part.2 he's an underrated character that needs more love. Plus, think of how cool it would've been to see him be an ally to Joseph.

Imagine a scenario Josuke is preparing to leave jotaro and jolynes funeral he blamed himself for their deaths he should have come with them he could have healed them but he didn't he was too busy messing around with okuyasu and koichi. shizuka who is now 13 walks up to him and tells him Joseph wants to talk to him, Josuke knew Joseph didn't have long left and wanted to bond with his father, after all family can dissappear so suddenly and there's nothing you can do not even someone with jotaros skills can prevent it so he went to meet Joseph behind the funeral home who was looking very concerned when he finally noticed Josuke "Josuke I wish this was on better circumstances but something is coming something that could wipe humanity off the face of the earth" Josuke felt the urgency in his father's voice "what do you mean is it a stand user" Joseph shook his head "no stand user on earth can come close to what he is capable of" Josuke felt something he hadn't felt since he heard about kira "hold on did you just say he?" "oh and another thing Josuke ceasars great nephew blames the joestars for his great uncles death quite similar to how ceasar and I first met except he's going to be a bit more aggressive Josuke calmed himself he remembered Joseph teaching him a little about hamon but he didn't learn much due to his father's age getting in the way and never got to use it but perhaps this zeppeli guy could teach him after 'introductions' if he's still in good shape after he meets crazy diamond "alright old man I'll do it" "thank you and be careful kars is crafty and also" "yeah" "would it kill you to call me dad for once" "yare yare fine I'll do it 'dad'" Josuke turned around to walk away "and another thing" Josuke's shoulders slumped "what is it now" Joseph pulled a small brown box from his coat "your gonna need it it helped me beat kars the first time" Josuke opened the box and inside was a small red gem with a cross inside it "what does it do?" That's nice and all, but Jotaro and Jolyne actually aren't dead at the end of part 6. Also, they wouldn't have a funeral since universe was accelerated.

In my opinion the AU pillar men should be the complete opposite of the OU pillar men, like how Magenta Magenta is the complete opposite to Kars.

Underrated and underestimated. If nothing else‚ he's the only one of the Pillarmen we've seen that can actually survive sun exposure (albeit with penalties).
