00:00 - Intro
00:42 - Cheyenne introduces herself! When Cheyenne was 14-years old, she felt pulled to go to church. She began to build relationships in her congregation and started making church a priority.
02:10 - Cheyenne was known as the “Jesus Girl” at school! During her Junior year of High School, she started getting to know some members of the LDS Church. She went to Youth Conference and stake dances and eventually attended church.
04:15 - Cheyenne asked her pastor what Mormons believed. The pastor told her things that made her a little more skeptical about the church.
05:54 - For the first time, Cheyenne felt and recognized the Spirit while at Girl’s Camp.
06:25 - The leaders of Cheyenne’s church dismissed her feelings of the spirit and she stopped going to the LDS church.
07:42- Cheyenne shares about when she had taken lessons from the missionaries for the first time. Fast forward a little bit, Cheyenne was in Sunday School and disagreed with some of the teachings about the priesthood so she confronted the bishop who then taught her about the restoration.
09:35 - Cheyenne again felt the spirit, but this time about the Plan of Salvation.
11:00 - Cheyenne talked to her pastor about wanting to join the LDS Church. He then questioned her decision and told her to distance herself from the LDS Church.
13:25 - Cheyenne felt like many people at her church looked down on her. But she was asked to be a leader at Vacation Bible School. On her way back from VBS, she saw a LDS Church and decided to go in for a church meeting.
16:00 - Cheyenne met someone at church and told them her story. He validated her feelings of the spirit and knew what she had to do.
17:20 - Cheyenne went to Sacrament meeting and felt a further confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel as found in the LDS Church. She began meeting with the missionaries again.
19:10 - Cheyenne gets baptized!!!
20:17 - Cheyenne’s family struggled with her decision when they learned of her decision to be baptized.
22:00 - Cheyenne decides to serve a mission!
23:05 - Cheyenne decided to go public with her decision to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ.
23:15 - People from Cheyenne’s previous church began to reach out to Cheyenne to warn her against the LDS Church. Cheyenne felt isolated and afraid.
26:15 - Cheyenne leaves on her mission and LOVES IT!
26:40 - Cheyenne bears her testimony.

I was baptized in 1994 and came from a non-religious background. Like Cheyenne, I found so much joy . I was shocked when, within weeks of my baptism, I found myself drowning in anti-mormon literature and lies from every direction. I am now 64 years old and living with my 91 year old mother to care for her. Her total dismissal of anything gospel related has dented my overwhelmed soul. Yet, I can never deny feeling the Spirit of God testifying so many times of the truthfulness of this faith.

I just stumbled on to this video, amazing. My wife's family was LDS. Amazing people and church. We are not together any more after 30 years. But I have been thinking and drawn to anything to do with the church lately. God and I have gone back and forth for many years not being raised in any church. And by that I mean me of course going back and forth. I end up defending or politely correcting people quite often who are not educated at all on the LDS church and they are usually very surprised to hear the truth. Your story is amazing and really touched my heart. Again I felt such a pull and over welling of emotion listening too your story. Thank you for sharing.

What an amazing story! I was raised in the church, but had a faith crisis in high school and fell away for many years. I only recently returned. In lieu of the mission I missed the chance for, I've been donating as much time as possible to joining the missionaries as they meet with investigators, sitting with guests on Sundays, and trying to ensure investigators feel welcomed and loved. The story about the person who sat with Cheyenne that Sunday, as she was waiting for her ward's meeting, gives me hope that I am making a difference in my branch.

What a beautiful story, Cheyenne! I went through much the same as you did, not so much losing friends, but similar things happen to me with my family. My mom went to the hospital when she found out I was attending church with my sister and my brother-in-law for the first time. She was in the hospital for three days from a nervous breakdown. My brother came to the church and threatened my brother-in-law if something happened to my mom. It was a little contentious at my home with my parents for a while, but I didn’t have to move out so that was one positive thing that came from it. And like you, shortly after one year I put my papers to go on a mission and served in Guayaquil Ecuador. That was an amazing experience. Serving people in another country, learning a new culture and spreading the gospel to people who were so humble. Thank you for sharing your story. I hung on every word that you said waiting to hear what you were going to say next. I’m so happy that you found the truth and are growing in the gospel. For me, it’s been roughly 45 years since I was baptized. And I’ve never regretted joining the church.

Now, I'm a bishop and I'm very seriously thinking about showing this video to our youth in a fireside at my house. Thank you for sharing your story, it was beautiful. Many years ago in Perth, Australia, my companion and I (who are both from NZ) taught a wonderful young woman who was basically your age when you were being taught by the missionaries. The day before her baptism her long lost friend from her old Church was sent over to tell her why our Church was evil and she shouldn't follow what she had felt from Heavenly Father. It breaks my heart that we lacked the experience to help her navigate this disruption to her conversion and she stopped coming to church. I can still see her face. I'm so grateful to hear that you were able to overcome opposition and follow Jesus Christ.

My father disowned me, my party friends thought I was crazy and my born again friends tried to save me. But, I knew it was true and I have never doubted my decision to join Jesus Christ’s restored church. Every good thing in my life in the 44 years since then are a direct result of choosing to follow the Savior. Regarding family and friends, Time (and the Spirit World) softens hearts. I loved Cheyenne’s testimony and conversion story. My husband and I joined the church in 1967. There were few of our family who approved. My husband’s family especially did not. He was strong and had studied and experienced much about the gospel and never yielded to the negative coercion. The gospel was everything to us. I’m now 77 and I could not exist without the gospel. My husband passed away 18 years ago. It was difficult grieving, of course, but I know we will be together again forever because of the Savior’s atonement available to all mankind. As with Cheyenne, the spirit is undeniable. Thank you for this channel. I will be following you. ❤️🙏

We each have a testimony and are strong in our faith. We thank Mom and Dad for bring us into the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and making it possible for us to have that joy. Hey Cheyenne! I'm adult convert, too, having had a very active faith journey in "mainstream" Christianity before I met with missionaries. (Funny aside, I thought I was there to convert them!) I have tons of family and friends who love the Lord and who, so far, think the Book of Mormon is just a work of fiction. But what I have come to realize is that they don't know what they don't know, and God will convert them in His time just as He converted you and me through the sweet promptings of the Holy Ghost. So don't be sad for them, but do pray for them every time you think of it. More miracles, and "the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power that the world has ever seen," are ahead!

I too am a "mainstream" Christian and meeting with the missionaries whenever I can. I'm curious if you could help me understand what the book of mormon adds to the gospel that is in the New Testament. (I am just at the beginning of reading it.) I don't get the feeling that the missionaries are very knowledgeable about the New Testament gospel because they haven't been raised in a church that teaches as much from the Bible so I am interested in your opinion as someone with that background who has converted. Thanks

@@coachmarc2002The LDS faith actually studies and learns from the Bible extensively in church lessons, Conference Talks, Devotionals, Seminary (which is standard for high school students), Institute (college age students), and so on. The Book of Mormon strongly supports the Bible and the Bible strongly supports our faith. We don't expect the youth to retain everything in the Bible or Book of Mormon, but to learn the spiritual principles within them. But we do encourage them to try to remember scriptures that strengthen our testimony of Jesus Christ and to help us on our covenant path with God. And some members know or remember scriptures more than others. We don't feel how much scripture we retain is what measures our relationship with God, but we are taught to read them regularly which beings the Holy Spirit and to try to follow the precepts within them, such as the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament, which can bring us closer to God. Ironically, we often wonder the same thing about other faiths when it comes to the Bible because there are so many scriptures in it that strongly support our faith that we wonder if other faiths overlook them or if they are unfamiliar with them. Some we know we just have different interpretations of them, but others it seems we are the only ones who believe them.

Being 68 years old, from Texas, now in Taylorsville Utah for 44 years, & a convert to the church being a former member of the Southern Baptists, I can relate to your story. Be strong dear Sister. I know without doubt that God is our father in heaven. That Jesus Christ is His Son. Both of them are very distinct beings but one in purpose, drive, & mission along with The Holy Ghost. My first testimony was of Joseph Smith. There was no way that he did what he did without the express help of The Godhead. In fact it was a full 5 years later after my baptism & confirmation that I read The Book of Mormon. The Holy Ghost burns within me. There is so much for you to learn even now. God will teach you line upon line, precept upon precept. The joy of God & His Son Jesus Christ should course within your veins. I can understand because I am also a member. When I was 17 on Feb 17, 1980, a couple invited me to take the lessons and I accepted. I did not know that this was against my father’s wishes. I became 18 years old on April 9th, 1980 and soon was asked about joining the church and being baptised. I had to tell my father about my baptism the day before. He worked late, around 7:00 p.m. from what I remember. I made a commitment to inform my father by 8:00 p.m. I was fearful to ask him, so I paced nervously. At 759 p.m., I walked to the couch and told him I needed to talk. I plan to be baptized tomorrow. No baptisms on Sundays, he said. I repeated myself and then he said if you get baptised you mightiest well pack your things and leave. I had not finished high school and was still working on the 11th grade. I went upstairs and pack my things and went to the house of the friend who had the missionaries over. I felt like this was going to happen, and it did. They said that I could live with them, but that did not last long and I was asked to move out. They had a son that gave me a hard time. I went to another family and stay there for a while. It was a place where a retired couple lived. The lady Elizabeth was great, but the Husband was not a member of the church. He gave me a hard time. He wanted me to go and after some time; I had to leave. Once I graduated from high school, I had the help of the church and got an apartment. This is the short version and yes, I understand all so well. I want you to know that I have a website about prophecy and I am placing a link to your Testimony. genuine prophecies is the site. You can check it out, the link is at the bottom of the page. It’s a .com site. genuineprophecies That testimony means a lot to me. It's difficult and I wish people would be more open-hearted. We're fortunate as members. I am grateful to understand the events before the 2nd coming. I wish people would listen to the truth. Thank you for sharing such valuable content. God be with you. I hope that it’s ok that I place a link to your testimony. (Cheyenne) Happy Holiday - But I say; If you believe then, every day is Christmas. Sincerely, Tim T

Making a lot of bad decisions. Now I’m sober and serving others in the Church and Community and still people question my Faith 🤦🏻‍♂️ lol Thank You Lord for the restoration of the gospel. Cheyenne, you are a young woman of unusual spiritual strength. Thanks for your beautiful conversion story. You have weathered the opposition so well, and thanks for reminding me that God works great things out of hard times. I converted from an Assembly of God church 27 years ago and experienced similar opposition. I’m still estranged from one close family member sadly. But times are changing fast. The public narrative about the church is changing. I feel the softening, and testimonies like yours are helping. I’m more encouraged than ever. I’m from Hamilton, NZ, and so glad you got to serve here! God bless you for your example to us all 🙏💗

I took the missionary lessons at age 14, and I could very much relate to Joseph Smith's search for truth at my same age. I was baptized just after turning 15. At 16, I visited an Assembly of God church with a friend. They immediately took me to the pastor to turn me from the "devilish church" I was in. They gave me anti-mormon literature. Everything I saw, heard, and read from them (because they were so terribly off base from what they thought we believe - and because the Spirit was not with them) the things they said, did, and the materials I read from them actually strengthened my faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints being Christ's true church.

Your testimony reminds me of the dialogue between the Savior and his disciples when he asked them "whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" The disciples reported that there were many opinions as to who he was, all of them wrong. Then he asked "But whom say ye that I am?" Peter replied without hesitation, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." The Savior commended him, "Blessed art thou Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my father which is in heaven." This was essentially a master class by the Savior on how we may discern truth from error. You knew, Cheyenne, that this is the work of God in spite of the opinions of "flesh and blood" because the Father had revealed it to you. The Savior went on to say that "upon this rock (i.e., the rock of revelation from the Father) I will build my church." And so he has. You are evidence of that. So am I.

I’m 80 years old and a convert when 33. I remember a young lady, Sally, who was baptized when in high school. Her family was affluent in the community. She took to the gospel almost immediately. I’m sure she went through some of the same struggles as you! She went to BYU, married a return missionary, and raised a large, beautiful family. Still, she has that same testimony gained as a youth. It seemed her parents didn’t interfere with her path at all. I could be wrong though. After all these years I stay in touch. I plan to sit down with her one day in the Celestial Kingdom and reminisce! BTW, I was her Branch President and was honored to be asked by her to perform her baptism those many years ago. From listening to Cheyennes testimony I wish I had been more attentive to her after her conversion, but apparently she didn’t need it. Donny and Marie Osmond were her inspiration to join the church. Sally has been one of my inspirations to stick it out! Cheyenne, you hold on! Thanks for your wonderful testimony. I hope it will be quoted from by angels.

I am going a similar path. I grew up in the bible belt. I have been in the Christian faith. Lately i have been very disappointed in what is being taught on the pulpit. We have a child on the severe part of the spectrum of Autism. We were mistreated and outcasted by the church many times. I love the Savior, Jesus Christ, but i do not like how the body of Christ is acting. Back in 2004, i met a man who is from Utah and very strong with the LDS church while we served in the Army while deployed to Baghdad. I lost touch with him until 2018, when i found him on Facebook. Since 2005, he has married and had a beautiful family. My family and I went to visit his family in Utah. They met our Autistic son, Kevin. Never have we seen the way the church members treat each other like family, and they had so much compassion on us. We never felt the same love from members of our " Christian " church. Fast forward to 2018, my wife and i were separated, a lot do to no support system for our family and the stress caused by our Autistic son. My Mormon friend called me out, and coached me the way in the spirit. Our family was saved through the power of the Holy Spirit and our Savior. 2023, they attented our 25th anniversary vowel renewal ceremony, he was my best man! Today , when i struggle, he reminds me that i still need the fullness of the Gospel. What a beautiful witness.

On 12/7/2023@@user-wg5dm6oc3treplied, "She's a grown woman and sounds like a naive teenager to me. No wonder she was conned." Were you talking about Cheyenne, "M"? I wonder; do we see in the world what we bring to the world? Cheyenne said she was not convinced by the "Mormons," and she was not convinced by the Evangelicals. Her conversion was by the Spirit of Christ. If by "naive teenager" you mean she sounds happy, loving, kind, considerate, and even joyful and fulfilled, then I agree with you. Jesus helps us to recognize the truth by His teachings: "By their fruits ye shall know them. (KJV Matthew 7:20. See Matt. 7:13-27)" Paul explained to the saints in Galatia how to recognize what the fruits of the Spirit are: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22-23). Do these words apply to Cheyenne? If so, she bears the fruits of the Spirit, and we know Who she follows. That's how I see Cheyenne. Hopefully, M, we all follow the teachings of Christ Jesus when we only judge others the way we want to be judged ourselves (Matthew 7:1-5). I myself am so grateful and praise God that I can be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the same church Cheyenne joined. This is Christ's true church, with the full gospel, believing and teaching the whole Bible. God be with you, M.❤ May you find the peace you desire.🙂

You mentioned that you had learned about the restoration before, but for some reason when the Bishop explained it to you it just clicked, and I think that can be so helpful for anyone who is trying to share the gospelto understand. Sometimes we might share a doctrine or principle with someone and they might not really get it at first, but we are planting seeds, and they might have their light bulb moment later when they learn it again. ❤

Cheyenne, I had an experience once w an anti- Mormon book that I was given. I started to read it and immediately recognized how it twisted our beliefs and took things out of context. But what really struck me was the darkness I felt - the Spirit immediately left me. I set it dwn & picked up the BoM and started to read and was filled w the Spirit of light & love. I went back and forth that way a few times just experiencing the Spirit coming and going. Then the Spirit gave me a couple insights: 1. Lies & deception cause the Spirit to leave; attacking God’s word causes the Spirit to leave (no surprise abt either of these); and 3. Ppl of other faiths who read these things abt us feel the darkness of the book & the Spirit withdrawing, & instead of associating their feelings of darkness w what they’re reading, they associate it w us… this is why they teach each other to avoid & fear us, & to hold us in such contempt. It’s heartbreaking.

After my mission, one of my best friends became relentless in his negative attitude about the church, he always wanted to argue about it. Every time we were together. I had a breaking point, and decided to finally punch back verbally about his faith - he could dish it, but he couldn’t take it. We didn’t talk much after that makes me sad how some people just can’t get over their differences and understand that God is the ultimate judge. Still love it here. You would also know that the Jesus himself testified of other sheep not of the fold of Jewish nation who would hear His voice. The Book of Mormon is a witness that another sheep fold did hear His voice and taught them his gospel. You would also know that all Christendom except the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints cannot be His church because they do not have His authority to teach his Gospel. They took it upon themselves as the BIBLE FORBIDS! You would also know that the only true church of God must have Apostles, Prophets etc, also one Lord, one faith, one baptism as Paul taught until we all come to the unity of the faith. Do we have a unity of the faith? Contradictions, Deceptions, Greed, Priestcrafts, False doctrines, Heresies, abominations, mis-interpretations, limited verse bible churches, etc. These are all part of Satan's deceptive network of churches to provide a type church for nearly everyone's own desires no matter how evil those desires might be. You would also know the only way to salvation is to do as Jesus taught and follow Him. Remember doing the Will of the Father is critical to entering the Kingdom of Heaven. Doing the will of man or some preacher who Satan has called to do his deceptive work will only lead to your demise. As Jesus taught continue in His word, Then are ye my disciples indeed; AND ye SHALL KNOW the TRUTH and the truth shall make you free. @josephinerogers79 Yes, my point exactly. The LDS Church, however, has many doctrines and beliefs that are at odds with the Bible and, therefore, also their own Book of Mormon. How can a reasonable thinking member of the Mormon church reconcile that?

Cheyenne, thanks for your beautiful testimony. The light shines in your eyes. I joined the Church at age 18. I was not as strong as you nor did I have such strong faith. After leaving the Church for 7 or 8 years, was invited back by a wonderful bishop. I have never looked back. I’m almost 77 years old now. My family, especially my dad, was very hateful and critical about my beliefs for many years. Before his death he told me that I had a great family and that it was because of my religion. Hang in there. Your shining example will make a difference to your family someday.

I love this testimony so much! I would love to be Cheyenne's friend. If we can get connected in some way, that would be wonderful. I am also a convert. I have a video posted that shares a brief overview of some of the experiences that led me to be convinced that my Abba has guided me by the hand to know that the fullness of His gospel is preached in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am so thankful that this interview was recorded and shared for the world to hear!

@@cheyennetrull7723Hi Cheyenne. I love the LDS tradition so much. These wonderful people, the church unity, it seems like an amazing experience. I want to type this with gentleness and respect. I CARE about you. The Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham is so problematic in its origins especially the latter. Joseph Smith was involved in treasure digging, free masonry, and the occult. It’s not true. It’s not of God. It IS deception. The Bible writes that our hearts are deceitful and that we can not trust our feelings. We need to trust God’s word, the Bible alone. I love you and hope that you find truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.

@hollon1697 I too write the following in all sincerity with the hope it gives you food for thought. It's difficult to see how much you love the Latter-day Saints by your words against what we hold to be true. You're correct that, as a rule, Latter-day Church members are wonderful and unified and belonging to Christ's restored church is amazing. If you think the Book of Mormon, the Book of Abraham, and Joseph Smith are problematic and not true--you haven't read, studied, or prayed to know for yourself enough. The Lord will answer an open heart. And you, like Cheyenne, will know it. The testimony of the truth as given by the Spirit is quite remarkable. And available to all. With regards to the verse in Jeremiah, the Lord said through his prophet, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings."--Jeremiah 17:9-10. Jehovah is speaking to Israelites in apostasy, they have left the faith for paganism--even participating in the sacrifice of their own children. He has contrasted the difference between rejecting Him compared to being faithful to their covenants and then chastises them for their hardened hearts and unbelief. This verse is not referring to receiving revelation about the truth of spiritual matters. As noted above, the Savior taught his apostles that the only way to know the truth of who He was, was through revelation. The Bible doesn't and can't save us, only Christ, and the only way to come to know Him is through the Spirit of the Lord revealing the truth of Him. There is no other way. The Bible (along with any scripture) is written by witnesses--prophets, apostles, and others. Scripture gives a record of these testimonies, it's then incumbent on each person to seek personal revelation from God to know if it's true. Martin Luther is the one who came up with idea of Sola Scriptura--except, according to Martin Luther's interpretation of them. You need to stop reading the Bible through the lens of the creeds and open your heart to the revelation available to you. Finally (sorry for the tome), in Acts on the day of Pentecost the people hearing and believing Peter's words (through the Spirit, I might add. How else?) asked, What shall we do to which Peter answered, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."--Acts 2:38. Around 3,000 people did exactly that. What does your Church do when someone first believes and wants to join your congregation? Paul teaches the structure of the Christ's Church to the Ephesians, "For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."--Ephesians 2:18-22. Christ, as the chief cornerstone, represents the standard of depth, width, and height for the foundation of Apostles and Prophets. Where are the Apostles and Prophets of your or the modern Christian church (among the tens of thousands of splintered denominations. Unity?)?

So many of us have similar experiences. I joined the Church in high school. My Jazz Band instructor was my greatest criticizer. He even took me out to lunch one day to "correct" my thinking. It didn't work, but only solidified my testimony that the decision I was making was the right one. He was upset, quit education, and became a traveling minister/missionary for his church. I think it's great that he had the conviction to make his life aligned with his understanding and that he dedicated his live to helping others. I wasn't too mad that he tried to do what he did - but it was a little weird that this 14/15 year old kid is being taken out to lunch by his old teacher. But it was the 90s, so... lol

Your story is so inspiring. All the stuff you faced. I don't think I could have survived that. Your little spark never went out. My wife's daughter served in Auckland. I'm so thankful you held on. I look at you as a modern day Nicodemus. I wonder if he ever overcame his fears and joined as well. Your family is eternally blessed. I joined in 82. Never looked back. Merry Christmas.
