Join the Police - Avoiding VETTING PROBLEMS in your Police Recruitment Application
For over 10 years I have been coaching and supporting people to succeed in the Police Recruitment process.
Sadly, a significant % of the 1000's I have supported (over 12,000 now in the police!) have failed vetting, sometimes for things they could have avoided.
In this video I explain more

@@Gal2k6 My flatmates cousin got out of prison and told his probation officer he would be staying at our address when this was a lie! I had no idea until recently, found out because I started receiving letters from the prison to his name. Do you know if this would fail me? They might think he lives with us and has a criminal record and I did not mention it but in reality he just lied and I had no idea

If I had a sibling that was arrested for petty crimes (shoplifting, possession of class b etc etc) but never convicted (as he is under 18) would this affect the vetting process? For background I live at the same address.

I can’t remember when the police stopped me. They saw me in a sports car in a rough area and wanted to stop me. He was rather annoyed to realise I have a professional job and am a good citizen

Hi, I would hope someone got back to me regarding this matter... I recently just completed a vetting form and failed it...I want to know based on educated opinion from someone on whether or not they believe I will be successful in my appeal. On the general vetting form before it goes to vetting officer, I had declared an incident with the month and year(didn't specifically remember the day) area and vehicle. Once it had gone to a vetting officer, the vetting officer had enquired about other information declared on the vetting form but not anything about the incident that I had declared and failed vetting for. The last question the vetting officer had asked was if I knew anyone who was a suspect or victim to the police and due to the fact it had said if I knew of anyone, I stated anyone I knew. I do believe that this was poor vetting refusal but id like someone educated to assist me. Thanks for your time!

Tbh every police officer should go through full SC clearance, in which I completed and they still think they’re higher than other people…just for reference they don’t?

Hi, I wanted to ask, I did a really stupid thing and shoplifted when I was 17 years old. The company did NOT call the police, however i did give them my name and address and they sent an RLP (Retail loss prevention) letter to my house with a fine that I did pay. Do I need to declare that? Had no contact with the police!

Strange Q, but was the shop in a town thats was in a BID at the time? It should be googlable. Because they may have a Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) if so. In which case they may use a system called DISC for every shop to put up pictures of their shoplifters to share info. HOWEVER- as you didn’t reoffend, you would have dropped off their system because they have time limits if a few years before the disappear off the system for data protection reasons (unless they reoffend). So you should be okay not to tell them. If worried, try find a cop friend to ask. If the value was low, it’s doubtful they reported you to the police.
