Johnsonville Ghost Town - Connecticut
The Victorian ghost town of Johnsonville was once a flourishing mill town founded in 1802 in Connecticut. It was sold in 2017 for $1.85 million dollars. It was abandoned for 20 years until a Philippines based church bought it. The Neptune Twine and Cord Mill Factory, which helped attract residents burned down in 1972. Originally the town was owned by the eccentric industrialist Raymond Schmitt. He added other structures to the site.

Beautiful place. Very sad situation. Too bad. The place should have been left to the immediate heirs. Would live to see it brought back to life!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
This place was my fathers early childhood home. He showed my siblings and I the area when we were kids in the early 90s.
It’s amazing the place isn’t all tagged up and vandalized. Sad to say but true.

Thanks for sharing. It is amazing but there are many places just like this where people simply just left. Beautiful location!
Can you do another video of how it looks today?
This place is very beautiful now , currently Own by our Church ..Iglesia Ni Cristo but you can still visit there they will welcome you with all their heart
The Iglesia Ni Cristo ( Church of Christ ) bought it 🙏🕎❤️
This places looks amazing, love the history. Is this place still 'visit-able'?! are all these buildings being restored or are they being knocked down? Would love to see it as a piece of history in time. Are there any cafes/shops in the area, or is it more of a drive through kind of place?

You can visit. It's been restored. It's in a rural setting. I was lucky enough to see it in a state before restoration.

So Johnny Rose buying Schitts Creek
I stayed at a bed-and-breakfast at this property. It was 1993 and they had a handmade wooden sign out on the highway looking for customers to come to Johnsonville for the night. I believe Mister Schmidt let us in even though we came late in the evening past checkout time.
How did we just let anybody buy this from us
When were you in CT?

Almost two years ago. This place is probably fully restored by now.
A philippine based church.. how typical of religions on buying things and just let it rot away instead of utilizing the place. 😣😤😬

Actually when I filmed this they were starting to restore it. So it's going to be saved. You'll be amazed if you go there today.
