Accidentally saw Johnny in a bar in Suffern, N.Y. back in the 80's. God must have brought me there.. I was already a fan. It was Awesome! He was just great!.. I feel lucky..

Sometimes it just works that way, I had beat a bad rap in Wisconsin and saw the signs to a Grateful Dead Show, my mom was with me and I convinced her to go, so mom and I saw the dead by chance in 1989. It was Alpine Valley 7/17 or 7/18 - I'd be more precice but some kind kids shared their candy ;)
Super , je t'ai vu en concert à Istres, que de bon souvenir réponse en paix ...
Saw him at Winterland in 1974 just before joining USAF ACADEMY BAND to play Oboe English Horn and Alto Sax Damn loud and DAMN GOOD!
Sadness reigns in my heart today. R.I.P. Johnny.
I saw Johnny in concert in early 82's in New Jersey. He was amazing!
So many great guitarists and Johnny's up there with them .

I just stumbled across Justin Johnson - not Johnny, but a solid blues player with a lot of styles.
I remember listening to him in the 70's and thought how wonderfully talented he was and great hair....Wow..... RIP
Rest in Peace, great Johnny.

Not me lol Scary looking man, overrated guitar player!
I'm 65 grew up in the 60's and 70s just started getting into Hendrix before he died And Johnny Winter was my Guitar hero man you can listen to him and just drift away to another dimension of incredibly beautiful inner self vibrations ...Johnny was one of the greats it wasn't sturdy and repetition that made him great it was pure raw talent Johnny could compose on the spot like he was funnelling it in , tuning in and channelling, Like SRV, Hendrix, and a long time ago MR. bix beiderbecke fit that category... And now we live in a wonderful time of the WWW we can enjoy our Idols with a few keys being pressed ....for the moment I'm still alive and well. Kinda hard to tell ...lol...

We caught a quite a few shows in the day, he could get a crowd on their feet and moving!!! I'm 66 this year, and still alive and well, well mostly...
It's funny, I didn't realize how very good he was until i am much older, saw him a couple times right around 1971 and loved it ....but love it even more now!
Johnny Winter is the quintessential iconic rock hero!!! I have been enchanted with him since the early 1970's when I was 13 years old!!! To this day no one has achieved a higher place in my heart!!! Love 💖 everything about him, voice, guitar style, appearance, his Southern Delta Blues style mixed with his own heavy rock guitar style!!! He has always been n always will be my idol!!!

Lucky enough to catch many shows in the 70s, I believe this was a standard encore song, we loved it!
One of the most under appreciated guitarists in history. Worthy of respect.
So sad to hear that johnny has passed away!!!what an incredible talent!! He'll be hugely missed!!!he brought so much pleasure to so many and thanks to his music will forever more!! He can jam with jimi again!!R.I.P Johnny!
I surely miss these brilliant musicians and I truly miss this kind'a great rock and roll.🤦🏻♀️I don't like most of the music produced these days, though I can say I grew-up listening to the greatest on earth. Johnny sure knew how to go, go, go!🕊May Johnny be playing in peace. 🌹Thanks for sharing. 🇨🇦✌🏻🎶❤️✨🌎💫
Ahhh .....the Memory Pain!
I started playing guitar in 1967. Was teaching myself. After much frustration and lots of false starts I finally decided to take some lessons.........at lesson #1 I said, "Teach me Johnny B. Goode by Johnny Winter!" Can you guess why? The man WAS Rock and Roll!
Got to meet him in 2010. Was kind in his old age.
This guy was always overlooked as a rippin guitar player. And yet he was always there the whole time burning things up. RIP Johnny.

Wow what a cool clip! Thanks
On this day in 1964 {August 22nd} "Johnny B. Goode" by Dion entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a four week stay, peaking at #71... It was sandwiched between two Top 10 records by Dion; "Drip Drop" {peaked at #6 in 1963} and "Abraham, Martin, and John" {#4 in 1968}... Of course, the original was by Chuck Berry; his version reached #8 on Billboard's Top 100 chart in 1958 and #2 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart... In 1970 Johnny Winter took his covered version to #92 on the Top 100...
