Sooo... I've never actually used it, so I'm not sure if that would ruin the drink texture, but as a chemist I wonder why you didn't use gum syrup instead, since it would have made the old fashioned part "heavier" thus helping layering.

@@Heiryuu They have a new box set "Cyberpunk Red". It's a bit 90's, but it feels easier than I remember the old system being. Basic roll is Stat+Skill+d10. It has a fun little micro-lifepath system that could be fun. I haven't had a change to play as I am old and too busy (pity me), but it looks fun. It'd be more fun if we weren't LIVING a cyberpunk but hey--that's not their fault.

There was a time when a story that started "I put on my mask and went to the liquor store . . ." would have a much different outcome.

I feel like the Johnny Silverhand cocktail started with Johnny drinking a Tequila old fashioned with a chilli garnish one day, then one of his bandmates stumbled and spilled some Cervesa in it, and being the animal he is, he took a sip and thought "not bad" and started ordering them

Two years late but quick note about Johnny, despite his love for hard drinks and liquor (as seen in the game) one thing I think ties into his old-fashioned lifestyle is never forgetting your old habits. Most likely, the choice of beer isn’t just a off-hand decision by Silverhand, instead its to remember how he used to kick it back, with a few beers and a good time. Johnny is all about remembering and honoring, and most importantly rebelling. So not only could it be a way to remember the old fashions, but to also rebel in his own way by adding beer of all things to a cocktail. Gotta say, has a rockerboy charm to it.

This is Greg and HTD in absolute prime form. You don't just say it comes from a cyberpunk game, you *go into it* and talk about the genre. You don't just make the drink, you *go into* the thought process, the ingredients, everything. This is an entire affair centered around an innovative cocktail. You really do use the game simply as a jumping-off point to explore your own new material, and that's what I look forward to every time I watch. That, and watching the text overlay take low-key pot shots at Greg.

I've made this one a *lot* recently, and here's some notes: - i can't get the beer to float on the tequila with the one i'm using (Faust Eisbock, 12% alcohol), instead it sinks to the bottom, and i still get my layers. - sprinkling in some ancho chili rather than adding it to the rim of the glass adds an interesting effect: the ancho will sink through the tequila but float on the beer, so i get two distinct layers, separated by floating chili

For viewers in the UK, this works well enough with Westmalle (fairly widely available), which is about half as strong as Last Abbey's Agave Maria. Just take the layer pour really slow, and it should layer up fine. Obviously don't know if it tastes fully authentic, but I enjoyed it.

Having played the game the split layering feels perfectly thematic with how much the game revolves around Johnny and V shared possession of V’s body.

That intro had no right to be that cool needs a warning

You get a sub and it sort of blows my mind that I haven't thought to look up this sort of content before even though some of my favorite things are making stuff and drinken. @@CocktailChemistry and that's completely cool. even if you had landed on the same recipe, in the end the videos are about entertainment, and whether it's you, nick, leandro, steve, vlad, or whoever else, everybody styles their content so differently that, really, unless you're specifically looking up how to make a particular drink, already knowing the ingredients barely even matters for the enjoyment of a video.

I want to see some cocktails made with Limoncello! Seems like a great thing for summer, especially paired with iced tea or lemonade, or perhaps some mint! I’ve tried looking up cocktails made with Limoncello, and they just don’t stand up to your videos, so I’d love to see what you can do. Like if you agree!

i had this exact same thought about 2 weeks ago! ur right, there really just aren’t any worthwhile mainstream limoncello cocktails (in my opinion) so i decided to make my own like our man greg. i haven’t actually gotten around to testing it yet, i’ve been busy lately, but i’m basically making four versions of the drink and seeing which i like best. it involves flavors limoncello, rum, ginger and possibly mint with a garnish of grated nutmeg, and ill be trying different ways of incorporating these flavors into the drink. once i find the combination that i think works best i could let you know

I’ve thrown in some limoncello in flavored sparkling water. Alcohol and sugar in one addition for a low abv summer crusher. You could probably throw in some bitters too

Limoncello-Tonic with basil and lemon peel as garnish is pretty tasty. There is also a great cocktail called Meatpacker on kindredcocktails.

This summer my go-to drink is limoncello spritz. Pour 20ml limoncello, add some ice, fill glass to 2/3 with prosecco, add sprakling water and slice of lime. Perfect drink for hot summer evening.

Yeah a bit steep, but if you have a bar near a comic con or some kind of game con, it should definitely be on your specials board for the week. Them peeps bring money to spend by the thousands at those events.
