My much older brother who was 14yrs older than me, was a pretty good guitar player, still is, but I remember this song coming out. I was 7 yrs old and my brother used to play it on his electric guitar and we would sing it together. He was drafted in late 1967 into the Vietnam war. We didn't see him for 4yrs and only heard from him a few times. I bought that record and would listen to it for hrs. We didn't know if he was dead or alive. It made me feel close to him. He was in for 7 yrs and happily in 1974 he came home for good unharmed.

My brother who is five years older than me let me do this for weeks before he finally told me what the correct version was and he laughed and laughed! There were other songs that I totally butchered as well! But man, this brought back memories!❤😂

Amen. Johnny Rivers is no lightweight. In 2017, he was STILL rocking out. I saw him that year and what a lovely surprise. He is seriously talented. He can write, sing and play very well. Plus, he has done it for a long time. Yes, he clearly belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

My dad raced drag boats in the mid 1960’s when this song was at its peak. He passed away at the age of 90 on Father’s Day. I was given some 16mm home movies of him racing and edited them to this song. I get choked up watching it every time.

P.F wrote it and sang it first, which sometimes makes a song better but just as often it doesn't and is irrelevant to my comment anyways. But it was Johnny Rivers version that was used in the T.V show "Danger Man" between 1964-1966. Hence making it one of the most recognizable rifts in the world.

Carnaby Street, the british invasion, 007, the mini Cooper, the jaguar type e, the 1966 world cup. It's called swinging London. It was when London finally came out of the ruins of world war 2 and became the world's it city of the 1960s. London repeated this in the 1990s with "Cool Britannia"

We used to sarcastically sing "Secret Agent Man" in the face of guys that were getting a bit full of themselves. Johnny Rivers deserves to be in the Rock& Roll Hall of Fame.

Johnny Rivers should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! This song is timeless, and created a whole era of thought. And every time anyone (with any savvy) hears that great riff at the beginning of the song, they know EXACTLY where it came from! Wonderful!

I remember hearing this on AM radio as a small boy riding in huge backseat of mom and dad's old '58 Buick! They LOVED this song and I did too. We would sing along together to it! My parents were the coolest ever! This song was HUGE right at the height of the James Bond era. Everyone was groovin' to this dance floor gem. Right on! Very Coolness......

I remember when that came out ,it was way before its time,I had siblings from 2 to 11 years older than me so I heard all the best rock from early on ,love Johnny Rivers

I'm the exact opposite, as the term "Asian" rarely came up in my youth, I figured it had to be "agent". Now I can only hear "Asian" as an adult.

This song is a scourge upon my life. I heard it on My Name Is Earl and it gets stuck in my head every couple of days. I'll just be sitting here chilling and my brain will suddenly start up with "SECRET! AGENT MAN!"

This sounds like a lip synched production, so he probably mimed the guitar. It doesn't mean he didn't play the guitar on the studio version. He did, and is a good guitarist.

I was only in third grade when this song first came out. Fifty years later, I still love this song!

Oh wow Melanie! How about that! I was in Mrs. Bretherick's third grade class at Delcroft Elementary School in Folcroft, PA (near Philadelphia) back in 1965-66. It was also the year that I became a Green Acres fan as well.

Last week this song from my last year of JUNIOR high staered rolling around in my head. I told Alexa to play it and IT WAS AWESOME Brought smiles to my wife and ! ! Great song STILL

Gosh I've heard this song so many times but only now realized I've never listened to the original. It's always been my grandfather and I'm so glad I heard my grandfather sing it first because I like it so much more! xD

Johnny Rivers,a great singer back in 1966,also year I was born.

My dad had this on 8 track. We would listen to this on the way home from dragway 42. Best days of my life.

This song and the show propelled me into becoming a Police officer Sheriff Deputy in the 70s.

This was my first ever 45….Back in those days in southern California school buses played songs from the radio and I knew I had to buy it. Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made for Walking was also another favorite. Good times.
