Quit my toxic job today and this is the first song I played when I came home. So relieved to never go back there.
Just danced my way out subway today playing this song. Fuck subway. All the customers had a good laugh.
I had an IT friend of mine stream this song on repeat over the company's intercom, and then he and I both walked out. Message loud and clear after systematic employee harassment (impossible work load, mandatory overtime and weekends, total asshole supervisor acquired in a merger, etc.). Since he was the only IT guy onsite, rumor has it that the song played continuously for 45 minutes. They couldn't figure out how to shut it off and finally resorted to flipping the breaker switch off in the server section of the building which resulted in dozens and dozens of data files being lost or corrupted. Was told later that a few employees, who were cheering and singling the lyrics, were terminated on the spot. They were happy to leave, but a few months later, CEO was handed a subpoena: a stack of lawsuits for employee harassment, wrongful termination, fraud accusations, etc. I can't reveal the name of the company, but management was so bad it was irreparable and the company eventually closed. Love this song.

Written by David Allan Coe and sung by Johnny Paycheck. Great collaboration. Two outlaw country legends.
The Lord works in ways that really ain't all that mysterious. On my drive in to work today I was caught behind a coworker whose last day of work is Friday. He'd been working here for seven years. And.as if the Master DJ itself had selected the playlist, .this song came on "Willie's Roadhouse". Funny how every so often the divine DJ gets involved. I think it was played for my benefit. Leaving on good terms is the wise operation. . But I think everyone,...at least once in their life...should experience a departure episode where you breakout like a drunken slob shouting obscenities and spitting upon the bouncers as they escort you to the door.
I quit my job and after they seen me walk out, half of the other employees quit too. That's what the owner gets for not knowin how to run a damn business and giving disrespect

This is a song that transcends musical tastes. Everyone has probably felt like saying that at least once or twice in there life. Or maybe every day, depending on the type of work you do.
I wish I had access to the company P/A system when I quit without notice. Working at that company was going to put me in an early grave. Plus it was one of the most oppressive environments I've ever been in. One of those "family" companies that puts the "cult" in culture.
All the thumbs down are employers and bosses 😁
Fun fact: when quitting his job at a skating rink, my dad played this over the loud speaker for everyone to hear

When I was a very young man in the mid ‘80’s working for a John Deere dealership, one of the field mechanics apparently had this song playing on the truck radio and every time Johnny said “ take this job and shove it!” he key’d the mic and put it up to the speaker. Absolutely hilarious! 😂😂😂😂
I remember years ago being in a store, and this song started playing on the over head speakers they used to have..Every employee was smiling, and singing along 😂😂😂😂😂
For many years before retiring I joked that I was going to play this song on an endless loop on my last day.....didn't do it as ultimately thought it would be disrespectful and my friends were stuck there, didn't want to rub it in, but I can tell you I was sure humming it and reciting it in my head!!! The first 8 track my dad would shove in the player when we headed out for vacation. Good memories.
Instead of Johnny Cash, he’s Johnny Paycheck, Cash’s cousin 😂

There used to be a boxer named Johnny Paycheck as well. And there is a lady who plays steel guitar named Cindy Cashdollar and that is her actual name

He ain't giving 3 week notice he's quitting right Johnny on the spot!
Can't wait for the day I get to sing this...
Here because this is what my dad plans on blasting through a boombox the day before retirement lol
I can say after having left my terrible job two months ago and going into the best job I’ve ever had, this song doesn’t hit the same once you’re happy with your work lol

I quit my job for a another that pays twice my paycheck. This serves as a lesson to know how much you are really worth.
7 years of high-school teaching in NSW, Australia. Just handed in my notice today. Better things to do with my life. Like playing this song as I walk out in 9 weeks' time!

Really hard to stay motivated in that profession. Pay is good I think, in comparison with roofing or bricklaying. However, it's not appreciated, and you can be spat upon by the product of dysfunctional families. Wish you strength, and I at least respect your service to ingrates. Australian here, using girlfriend's tab.
WHO ELSE LISTENING TO THIS JOHN PAYCHECK ANTHEM UP TO THIS DAY? Song is UNDERRATED AS F***!
I’m the last stocker left at my local “supergrocerymart” store and I’m this close to leaving. Would totally blast this if I could afford to leave
This was the favorite song of one of my favorite people on the planet. He died last October. It makes me tear up and chuckle every time I hear it. ❤

I have always loved this song. J. Paycheck was an awesome singer.
I AM A NURSE AND I SAY EVERY DAY TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER ❤
My favorite part (and I love the whole thing with everything in me) is "My woman done left and took all the reason I was workin' for."
Timeless anthem! Thank you for this Mr. PAYCHECK! Everybody has said this at least once or twice in his/her life!

My last day at this annoying stressful time consuming second job tonight. GOOD RIDDANCE
People like myself are tired of the toxic work environment corporate bs. I was playing this song in my car after quitting my job at the Ross warehouse.

I’m fixing to quit my job.
Back in the early 90s, Johnny Paycheck was at Kings Island. I alo g with my family and my girlfriend at that time had seen a crowd of people standing around him. All I could see was a cowboy hat. We went to the other end of the big long bench that wrapped around the tree that was in front of the restaurant. A lady walked by, and I asked who that was, she says, don't you know that's Johnny Paycheck . I said well all I could see was his hat. So after she walked away and the crowd had left so we went into the restaurant to get something to eat and he was sitting at a table at the other end of the restaurant so I didn't want bother him but just wanted to say hello he asked me to sit while he was waiting on his assistant to get back with his rain coat then asked where the rest of my friends were. He was such a great man
Tonight’s my last night before I go to a better job for 4 dollars more. I’m playing this song as I’m walking out
When i left a job after 10 years, i should've included a QR code link to this song in my two week notice.

Hello friend, I hope you're doing ok?
I'm 62yo and said that 3 times in my life😎🤘
When I win the Lottery I'll play this song on my Bluetooth speaker when leaving my job.
This song reminds of my step dad when he worked at his ‘penitentiary’ job (throwing cow hides). He took his own life in 2008. I would have loved him playing this song on his last day .
I actually requested this song to the radio station when I was a little kid! Man, do the lyrics hit home now!
Iconic. I wish I had a job so I could say" take this job and shove it"!
Tomorrow is my last day at work. Been playing this nonstop!
So I have an Interview for another job next week and if all goes well I am gonna blast this song while driving off the lot of my current fast food job.
