It's because people want to compare it to the original, they do not want to hear HIS amazing vocals, they want to say it's good because it sounds so much like the artist that made it famous. Usually, or the vast majority of the time, only other musicians & singers, like you, "get this." With a world of pop only, non-musicians, it is no wonder. People need to learn/to be taught to play instruments and to sing well and do all manner of other things besides write a review on YT hah! When I was a kid a long time ago, we had music in school from a young age. I think this, besides being from a home where my mother spoke another language and taught that the mind was vastly more important that a pretty face or body, is why I learned about a deeper sense of music and why my taste is varied. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Trying to learn this on the piano, my sad little piano skills. Fair winds to you all. ~rachel

He slayed those money notes yet he didn’t win. My goodness! He delivered vocally and emotionally. You can clearly see how he poured his heart and soul in that performance specially while pushing through to those higher registers. He’s perfection!

Johnny is remarkable. Chris was good and his runs drew a lot of attention. But as for clarity, strength and vocal sound, Johnny is the winner.
