When JG joined NE, that is when for me they went from Boyz to Men. His rich, soulful voice has always given me chills. I always wished he and Whitney Houston could have done a duet. That would be heaven! I have so many fav JG songs, but “Giving my all to you” , “Lady Dujour”, “I’m Still Waiting”, and “Quiet Time to Play” make me melt. I am melting now. 🥴😱 He is extremely underrated and can blow most male so-called R&B artists off the planet with his powerful pipes. I got to get serenaded by this man before I die. Lol

Though a duet with Johnny and Whitney would have been magical, Bobby was jealous and spiteful enough when ever she collaborated with him. She said it in her Oprah interview. Whitney and J.G singing together, Bobby would've really showed more of his ass then. He already had to live with the fact that he went solo thinking he'd become a superstar only to not blow up in the way he expected

Tanya Gary For me, Bobby had sheen and that was only with his Don’t Be Cruel album. Then again that sheen was from mega producers Babyface & LA Reid. Now Whitney’s talent put a diamond to shame. Whitney had a divine light in her voice that Bobby neva eva possessed. Johnny’s voice too would make one believe there is a God if you didn’t and thank God for the gift of hearing if you already did believe. 😇😁

"God don't make mistakes....and He'll be with you in the midst of the storms." Amen, Reverend Johnny! God is no Fairweather Friend. He'll be there till the end, even in stormy weather, time and time again! Why? Because His love is unconditional and He can stand the rain! lol You know that God is using you to touch people and your music is the truth when the songs are sermons and performing healing miracles. :-) In the fall of 2013 (around the time that this woman was diagnosed with breast cancer), I wanted to attend your concert in Mountain View, CA...but the dude I was dealing with refused to take me. On the way to a Raiders football game (his choice), we stopped at a music store (my choice) and I bought your Still Winning album. We played it on our way to the game (my choice). He liked what he heard...but still didn't want to attend the concert. Sketchy! He attended church with me...but complained about the sermon the entire time (the pastor was talking about wicked hearts and this dude had just given me a black heart necklace and told me that the gift is from his heart lol). If we had attended your concert and he complained even once, I might've went off on him...then prayed for him. lol So God indirectly used you to talk some sense into me about that situationship. God basically told me that anyone who refuses to take me to your concert is not approved by Him. He knows my "live" history with you and New Edition. In the 80's, my dad took me to see New Edition for my birthday. We used to sing "Can You Stand the Rain" together A LOT. Good times. Then I met Bobby and Mike at a mall in '89...and introduced them to my dad...who needed to meet some SUCCESSFUL Christian, black entertainers. He was into entertainment law at the time, representing a male R&B group...and kept seeing talented artists get rejected. He was becoming disillusioned...but that encounter encouraged him...and he helped other artists later. Long story. Bobby and Mike were very warm with us (gave me hugs and compliments!). So in '96, I ignored the storm warning in Tallahassee, FL, to ride the bus to the mall to get your album on the day that it dropped. I was the only person on that bus and the driver asked me why I was going to the mall instead of back to the dorms. I told him that I'm going to get your CD. GOD was with us on that bus. We made it to our destination safely. In 2006, a guy took me to see you live with New Edition for my birthday. Afterwards, he said that he was skeptical about it but enjoyed the show. He started praising y'all to his friends. He is someone who GOD wanted me to be with in that season (long story). So I KNOW that God uses you and New Edition for ministry. *filed under "ministries" and "testimonies" *

Made the announcement and it took our breath away...we didn’t think that they would actually perform...the crowd was getting antsy, but they came out and tore the house down...they acknowledged the fact that we had just lost a LEGEND!!! Bobby kept breaking down while performing... he had to leave the stage a few times to compose himself...the rest of the group would put their arms around him, various times during the show...he was very choked up but he pulled it off... he was really choked up during “Can You Stand The Rain” and “Home Again”... People please go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website and vote daily for Whitney to be one of the 2020 inductees. Whitney Deserves to be there. Let us honor her memory. Right now she is #6 in voting and only the top 5 make the cut. Also vote for Chaka who is also deserving. It speaks volumes that Madonna is in the Hall of Fame but Whitney and Chaka are not. Do something about it.

🙄If Bobby loved Whitney so much he wouldve been a better husband to her. I dont know why everybody is trying to paint Bobby as so sad widower. He used and abused that woman until there wasnt anything left.

@@SaintMTi Whitney was high all the time. She cut up too. They were bad for each other. He love her and she loved him. No one's the fault Whitney was doing drugs long before Bobby. I believe Whitney was molested as child. That way she was doing drugs nothing to do with her sexuality Her brothers was on drugs. They might have been molested too. That Houston family has secret that no one knows about but them.

@@bobby12348 Whitney being addict and coming from a shady family is no excuse for Bobby's abuse or behavior. Yall love finding ways to give Bobby a pass for his behavior. 🙄 Also where did I say anywhere in my comment that Bobby was the blame for Whitney's drug habit? Whitney doing drugs and Bobby being a wifebeater and a deadbeat father are two different things.

Oh please. Bobby treated Whitney and Bobbi Kris like shit when they were alive. He and Whitney are the reason Krissy became an addict in the first place. Bobby has never publicly admitted his mistakes or apologized to them. He's always making excuses or denying past behavior.

@@ebonyeyes7023 That's a silly statement. No need to be there. Whitney told Oprah what happened. And Robyn Crawford reveals in her new book that Bobby was horribly abusive to Whitney. Dragging her down the stairs by her hair, spitting on her, throwing glass at her. Bobby was jealous of Whitney so he treated her terribly. Verbally abusing her, cheating, etc. And he wasn't a father to Krissy either until years later after he got sober.

Ppl trip when I say that Bobby doesn't take credit for his actions. He blames everyone else for his many arrests and drug and alcohol problems. Just like ppl love to believe Whitney put him on cocaine and such. Yeah right. They were both into that kind of stuff before they met. Bobby admitted to it, but changed his mind after Whitney's death. New Edition have called him out a few times saying he was on cocaine while in the group. Didn't Ricky Bell talk about how much they loved being around Rick James and his lifestyle?

Ppl blamed Bobby for Whitney's drug use, even her family let that lie flourish until her death, then the truth came out. Her brother introduced her to drugs, she'd been using since a teenager. Ppl thought he made her hood, when Whitney was always hood. Even her brother said Bobby was a light-weight drug user compared to them. Whitney was an extremely talented song bird who self-destructed; she was no angel. She and Bobby were abusive to each other. They loved hard and fought hard. They were toxic for each other. Bobby had a flourishing career when he married Whitney and still does. He never lost his fan base. Whitney was a beautiful talent with demons; she was no angel. And yes.... while Bobby was with Whitney she was still alive. As soon as their marriage ended Whitney and Bobbi Kris succumbed to the greed of Whitney's murderous family, particularly Pat and Gary Garland aka Houston. Bobby left with nothing and didn't ask for anything. He couldn't even act as his daughter's parent without Pat "narcissistic" Garland who put Bobbi Kristina on a reality show for money and to set-up her smear campaign of Bobbi Kris. The Houston family manipulated and prevented Bobby from having a relationship with Bobbi Kris! Why? They knew Bobby Brown would've closed up those purse strings. Whitney and Bobbi Kris were being handled by the Houston family and they both died while in the care of the Houston family! Put the blame in its proper prospective.
