Yes, absolutely

Coming from Videography, Luts are okay for inspiration but in the end of the day you need to tweak the luts to get it right.. Learn color grading instead of using lut’s so you understand what you’re changing. I grade my own clips & productions, so to help you out: 1 go from flat colors to Rec709 (color correction), then you go in and grade on a seperate node/adj layer, OR apply the lut of your liking and play around with the intensity! CC in Resolve is even better and FREE!

I agree! I notice sometimes as I’m grading I’ll keep turning the lut percentage lower and lower until I just turn it off haha I have a few presets that I just throw on vids real quick and export for social media stuff too, thx for the tips. How much of a difference does going to Rec709 make? I’ve heard/seen the term around but never tried it

Max Beamer Rec709 will give you a good baseline, sometimes i’ll only apply a Gopro flat(protune) rec709 lut, to do a rough color correction. Also I don’t like m31 or making my trees orange 😅..

I hear you. def get a hero8 first and the gopro lut pack is the one I wish I woulda got now looking back, 60 bucks and it has 80% of the same stuff.. I'm probably not gonna use half the stuff from the pro pack but did it for the review!

I think the GoPro Version is the same but 4 base luts, basic has 5 and pro has 6. What the other differences are I'm not sure.

shoot in protune FLAT with iso 100 2.7k or higher and try to set the shutter manually so you don't deal with exposure spikes.

Does that software only work with GoPro or will it work with runcam 5?

Cheers mate, I'm pretty new to the hobby been flying fpv just on a year and am even newer to HD cameras and have only had my phone to edit/upload, buying a new laptop soon and just wanna be able to make better edits

LUT = Look Up Table...

idk.... I feel like I could just spend that money on packs and just color grade it myself....

Interesting, these literally taught me color grading when I first started and had no idea what I was doing.. they helped me so much reverse engineering how the “pros” or published guys get their stuff done. BUT.. imo there comes a time to create your own style id no longer cool to straight copy your peers work and iat that stage it gets a bit korny no? 😂
