Johnny Halliday is considered as a French rockstar. Lara was very uneasy singing with him cause he is such a big idol. she confesed that during the performance she started touching him and felt less stressed/uneasy while doing so and he just rolled with it. which is what made this such a intense performance and makes them feel that much more in character considering the lyrics of the song.

Great reaction! No, Johnny was a great friend to Lara. If you want to put a face to the man who broke her heart so badly that til this day Lara never talks about him, watch the video link below of them singing together 'L'Hymne a L'Amour' (he was a well known singer at the time). They couldn't stop kissing each other at the end of the song and every time I see it my heart breaks a bit again. I refuse to even write his name down. They were the' IT' couple for many of us Lara Fans. They were so in love, they looked so happy together. Than he broke her heart. He was caught cavorting with a model by the paparazzi while Lara was on tour, but of course he said that it was just friendship nothing more. A few months later he just ended their 2 years long relationship, blaming the tabloids and the constant media attentions for his sudden decision. For full disclosure, his voice is a marvel to behold and they sounded absolutely magical when they sang together as you could see in the video. That was epic! And yes , Dimash , SoHyang, Morisette , Lara.... they are the best in their own way. My favourite is SoHyang, but Lara's performances are out of this world, She gives everything on the stage.

The rain was not part of the show! lol Actually, it had been a living hell for all the crew and all these concerts at that time. One of the concerts had to be cancelled at the last minute because of the rain, it was too dangerous. Johnny was pissed off, his fans were very important for him and he didn't want to disappoint them but they had no choice to cancel because of security issues. It's one of his best duet IMO and he did a lot in his so long career (at least 60 years career I think, until his last breath). Two great and huge voices for a very powerful song!! Johnny said that she was him, the female version of him. It meant a lot for her since he was huge here in France, he still is even if he died in 2017 at the age of 74 (cancer, sadly). He's our Elvis Prestley here in France.

Yes he was a legend. Close to a million people lined the streets of Paris on the day of his funeral. Macron said that Johnny was a national treasure.

Johnny Hallyday was the biggest rock star in France. Since the 60's if you asked anyone in france who is the biggest singer, everyone will answer: "Johnny!!!", even the ones who didn't like his music. With the biggest shows, a sort of "french Bruce Springsteen" concerning kind of music. When he died, his funeral were on Tv as if he was the president, it was the main subject everywhere (to compare, it was about the same thing than in US when Micheal Jackson died). He's a french star...but he was born in belgium...just like Lara, but most of people says they are french. Each time someone sings a duo with him, it's a big event, this one was very famous because it's one of his "cult" song, and everyone thought: is she really able to do it fine...and Johnny himself said he was impressed. The song is a story of a man who killed his wife because she wanted to leave he lost his mind, and it's the moment when cops come to his house in the morning to take him, but he dosen't want to be taken alive, he prefers to die.
