I really want the uncompromising oddball Johnny Depp to come back. The one who took chances on weird shit like Gilbert Grape, Ed Wood and Fear And Loathing, rather than churning out endless Pirates Of The Carribean and Tim-Burton-white-face-paint movies. I want some hotshot director to come and recontextualise the fucker; maybe meta-cast him as a selfish aging Steve Zissou-like has-been.

they totally copied the pbs shorts, i will not support this shit, only pbs shorts because they got copied by Esquire, and i wonder if johnny depp getting drunk and hitting his wife calms him down to, i will never forgive him for ruining my image of how much i looked up to him and respected how how much artistic genuis he has when i was growing up and i saw how fucked up he is last year in a youtube video if him blackout drunk threatening and throwing bottles and hitting his wife

I think this was a really bold choice to make. I was really troubled by the allegations Depp's wife made against him of abuse, but probably even more troubled by how it was ignored by the mainstream media at large, i.e. Him still receiving roles in major blockbusters, documentaries about him never bringing it up etc.. I'm just not sure exposure and continued representation in the public eye is what Johnny Depp needs or deserves right now. None the less, interesting video

Joel Walsh ignored by mainstream media???? Don't you know how he has been treated by the media??? They even acted like he was proven guilty when he is not. He deserves every rights to work, to get a job, to be in a public eyes as those claims have never been proven and the judge dropped it with prejudices. To drop the case with prejudice, it means that the case has no basis on facts. In other words, her claims are all lies.

You said it right: ALLEGATIONS, just because a woman accuses a man of something, does that make it automatically true? I don't think so. She never proved anything. He was never proven guilty!! So, it wasn't ignored, people just realized that she faked the whole thing, even the police confirmed she was lying. She was the abusive one in their relationship, for sure. She even abused her ex-wife at an airport in 2009, and I'm not making that up, there is proof of it, look it up and you'll see. So, do you really think he deserves to be treated like scum when he is the real victim? You think that him still receiving roles is wrong? Think again!

Johnny Depp has been famous for 30 years and nobody has claimed he's abusive and suddenly a woman who has a history of abusing her partners comes along and says he's abusive. Depp is a professional. Not because something went awry in his personal life that doesn't mean he shouldn't honor his work commitments and secure more acting jobs. With that said, what made you think his second divorce was ignored by mainstream media? He was actually vilified, particularly by those who identify themselves as "feminists" and "liberals". Depp is even part of the latter group or even both. Unfortunately, a number of those people opted to play the moral superiority card instead of looking at the evidence that it was the woman who caused him harm and committed the kind of abuse that she accused him of doing against her. It's better for Depp to work than further beat himself up for making the mistake of marrying a deceitful bisexual. He learned quite late that he's been conned by a sociopath. Luckily, she didn't kill him, though she's pretty capable of doing that because she's after his money. By the way, in case you don't know, she originally asked for $50 million for a 15-month old marriage. Depp refused, and his decision infuriated her to the max. Sadly, many people think that women can't cry "Wolf!" when it comes to being abused. Yeah, right. Lying is blind to all kinds of human division, including gender.
