The audience's biggest applause was when he acknowledged the Vietnam war with the line "each week we lose a hundred fine young men"

Scammer alert.. Accounts like @Keenan Porte are going all around on KZread making that same comment in threads, and then coming in a minute or so later with a secondary profile, falsely claiming that they "tried it" and that it "works." I've witnessed them making these same comments multiple times in other comment sections across KZread.

He always wore black from the time of the song until his passing. He stood for the Americans that were forgotten by other Americans.

Johnny grew up dirt poor with a critical father. Early in fame he fe into alcohol, sex and heavy drug use. One reason he never judges others and played prisons and college campuses during the Vietnam War. Thats when this was recorded and the stude to were loving him.

Johnny Cash is truly one of the greats, he put out 97 albums over his career and kept himself relevant for about 5 decades. Id suggest Cocaine Blues, or his most recent song being a cover of nine inch nails' "Hurt"

That is absolutely insane when I stop and think about that. I had no idea about that either. I knew he was a legend, but putting those numbers behind it is incredible.

Since the 1990’s, Public schools fail is properly teaching History. This generation will never know of the injustice our Vietnam Veterans faced.

You have a super cool intro. I was going to skip it cuz I've never seen your vids but the "you are loved, you are valued, and you are appreciated" made me watch the whole thing without skipping (and replayed the intro like 3 times lol). Anyways thanks, and good job

He only sang for prisoners. He was never in prison. He spent 7 nights in jail…. Not consecutive nights

Walk The Line is an excellent bio-pic of Johnny Cash, and shows his own struggles with addiction, as well as his long association with prisoners and their rights. One of his hit songs was "Folsom Prison Blues", which led to him doing a concert album "At Folsom Prison". I'll add another vote for "Hurt". One of the best covers ever made.

Neil, I'll definitely have to check out "Hurt" by him. I've heard Walk The Line before, but I've never heard Folsom Prison Blues. Thanks for checking out the vid and giving me some more recommendations.

He did so much for prison reform when no one else was talking about it. He even recorded two live albums of prison performances. He has a silly song (but really good) call A Boy Named Sue. Seeing those poor men in the even-more-terrible-than-now prison conditions and watching them laughing so hard as Johnny performed his heart out for them. So moving.

He finished writing it that day. This is his signature song, if you don’t know it, you’re not a real Cash fan. Sorry, those are the FACTS. Cash is one of the best storytellers of our time. Now do A Boy Named Sue, Cocaine Blues, Folsom Prison and Sunday Morning Coming Down. #RIPJohnnyCash #ManInBlack 🖤

When Johnny Cash was in his heyday, it is said that one of every five records that were sold in this country were by Johnny Cash. I would love to see you react to "Here Comes That Rainbow Again". I don't believe anyone has ever reacted to it yet and I am curious as to how someone new to the song would react to it.

Yup. Awesome, powerful, and everything else. Johnny Cash wrote that song in a week ....a WEEK !!..... .. I liked your understanding of his words. It is one of those special songs that you have to comment on every couple of lines. He was a great story teller. ... funny ... and down to earth. He will never be replicated.

The bad trip reference isn’t about a drug overdose. Bad trip was a common term that described someone who took LSD and had an unpleasant experience.

Awesome analysis, I commend for how you react to songs, not many have the kind of insight you do. There's a song that I've seen some reactors do and always misinterpret the meaning. I'm challenging you to react to "GHOST IN THIS HOUSE"by Alison Krauss 😊 it's an awesome song with nuanced lyrics, just curious to hear your analysis. @CS Productions.29
