Perhaps the portal back to Earth was in the same spot as where he entered. I mean, that's where I'd look first. And if not, then perhaps there's a perimeter to the place. If he walks far enough, maybe you end up walking through the edge and you're back on Earth.

4:55 This fatality is what really made this movie. The directors really got the characters and understood the tone. Scenes like this where he drops his autographed photo and the scene where reptile becomes alive and the video game voice announces him is just so clutch.

I work a theater, and a guy in his 40's came in yesterday with a pretty damn accurate 90's MK Scorpion outfit. When I complimented him on it, he chilled with me for a second and talked shop about how he'd 3D printed the mask. Every time someone walked down the hall towards their movie, he'd shout "WELCOME". Probably the funniest shit I've had happen there in a long time.

I always wondered if the actor that played Johnny and scorpion if they had some type of martial arts background for their fight.. the way they both threw those high head kicks was smooth and gave me tae kwon do vibes. Hands down best fight scene! Legendary

Chris Casamassa who played Scorpion is a legit martial artist and stuntman unlike Linden Ashby who played Johny who had to learn some basics before shooting the movie cuz he had no MA BG and yet most of the scenes where you see Cage fighting were shot using a stunt double

the kicks and overall choreography on that platform is still insane to this day

The choreography was amazing in this fight, Every punch and kick had a hefty and loud sound.

So for those of you who don't know, the reason why there are literally only two good fights in this movie is because the studio cut the budget to the movie right before filming. According to Paul W.S. Anderson who directed the film, this meant that every single fight needed to be stripped down from what they were supposed to be, in fact the original fight between Johnny Cage was supposed to end shortly after Johnny Shadow Kicks Scorpion as that kick would've killed him. When they showed the film to test audiences they flat out said that the fights sucked. So Paul was able to get a little extra money to reshoot only two fight scenes, Liu Kang VS Reptile and Johnny Cage VS Scorpion. So thank those test audiences that had the gumption to talk shit about this movie so many years ago for this fight scene.

Great memories from my childhood

Things I loved as a kid, but only truly appreciate as an adult: The setting. The forest is beautiful. The hell scene is littered with skeletons and spikes, and ladders and details.... It must have taken an enormous team to build all of that.

You gotta love the subtlety of fan service in this movie. The "game voice" of Scorpion, Johnny's Shadow Kick, the fatality move of Scorpion with a skull head and "Friendship" at the end. All the little things fans of the game appreciate, yet doesn't interfere with the flow for the non-fan casually watching it.

Not only that, they were in _so much shit_ during this era of entertainment. Tons of video games ( _Carmageddon,_ _MESSIAH_ to name a couple,) it felt like Fear Factory was one of those bands that was the soundtrack to my teenage years. Definitely got me into industrial, for sure.

Only 4 seconds long, and yet for my money, 2:54 - 2:58 represents the best slugfest in cinematic history. Or at least it sure as hell did in the theatre when I was a kid getting rocked by the overwhelming bass of every impact.

Ok, this is an epic movie based on epic game, with epic Scorpion lines with epic song of Fear Factory (Zero Signal). Just perfect!

That snake whip is a *sick* way of using the ole GET OVER HERE grapple. Bonus points for just using the normal sound clip for it. How did video game movies suck for so long when this one seemingly nailed it on the first try?

The scorpion costume in this, just priceless.

Seen it as a child but after watching the MK 2021 and then rewatching this movie made me feel like cringe😅 The fight scenes of Scorpion, Sub-zero, Kano in MK 2021 are much better than this. The only thing I hated in the movie is Cole Young. They should've used Johnny Cage or if they were looking for younger characters, they could've used Takeda, Kung Jin, young Kenshi or maybe even Kuai Liang.

Johnny was portrayed in the first part of this movie like a goofball, cracking jokes. Then gets thrown into a big boy battle against Scorpion and holds his own. I honestly didn't expect this level of skill out of him to go against Scorpion.

But his fight against Goro and scorpion were kinda portrayed to be cheap and unfair. He hit goro in the nuts and then pushed him off a cliff. Then he had to pick up a random shield and spear in order to defeat scorpion. I think that was the intention they wanted to show. He won, but won unfairly.

@@farid1406 I know it may seem like I dislike Johnny, but he’s definitely my favorite MK character. I’ve always loved his sense of humor, and his sarcasm. Even though he’s definitely not the best fighter, he is easily the most hilarious one. Very unfortunate he never made it into the remake.

The boat scene with scorpion and sub zero, arriving at the tournament the guest fight, Johnny vs goro , sub zero sparring the guy to death. Honestly I could name a bunch of scenes that are basically core memories lol. I get what you’re saying though those two fights were probably the best but the they did a lot with very little I think is an underrated movie. Growing up playing MK on sega this movie blew my mind when it came out lol.

Kano was pretty decent too. Just his character and the eye was legit! But the boat scene. The intro of sub and scorpion was chilling! But had they not included the two fights the movie would have been lacking.
