Johnny came to Corsicana and played the Palace Theater somewhere around 2005 or so after he had his throat issue. I had no idea who he was or anything about him, just got tickets to a small town performance. But I was amazed at the live country gold I heard from three rows back. He was available to the audience after the show, and I bought some merch and a CD that he signed, He was such a nice guy. And his spot-on lyrics made me a fan that day. I am so glad I got to see such a legend perform up close and personal. The world is less of a place without ole Johnny Bush!
Born 2-17-1935, died 10-16-2020. But his music still lives on.
Johnny Bush passed today. A golden voice silenced.

He was a legend when he was with Ray Price, so that good Ray encouraged him to get out on his own. If Ray did that,it was because the competition was too great!!

@@geoffreyjohnston6483 The person you corrected is right. He was a "living legend" until he died. Then he became a true LEGEND. It's rooted in Greek mythology. Consult a dictionary. Respectfully 😊😊
RIP JOHNNY -- WE'VE LOVED YOU, ALWAYS.... OCTOBER 16, 2020...
He was a gentleman and just gentle. Was able to meet him three times. A great voice.
Now! That's music and singing! You don't hear today's young artist resonate like country artist Johnny Bush, Toby Keith, John Schneider and a few others. They knew how to sing a song.
Real country music
Missing Johnny Bush! Dallas Wayne says a day without Johnny Bush is like a day without sunshine!
This is how I define “CLASSIC COUNTRY MUSIC”........nuff said.... This country music of today is a total disgrace....

True voice of country and the look of country.
RIP Johnny!! Thanks for the great music!
Another Texas beer joint legend left us yesterday, Johnny Bush, one of the best passed away. I spent many a night with Johnny at the historical, Esquire Ballroom on Hempstead Hwy. in Houston, Texas during the 50's and 60's. Ray Proske, owner of the Esquire was lucky enough two have two great house bands during those years, Johnny Bush, his band and Larry Butler and his band. Folks, when either of these bands hit the stage you were in for some great Texas beer joint country music. I was so lucky to have been allowed to have a front row seat to that music, music that came from the lives of the writers and singers. Whether it came from the actual lives of those folks or from the stories they heard while entertaining at those beer joint venues, the one solidifying fact is that the words in those songs were straight from the heart and remained in the soul. We lost Ray Proske in 2016, Larry Butler in 2017 and now, Johnny Bush in 2020. Even though the Esquire Ballroom is a completely a different venue today, I believe that if you park in the parking lot, late at night, just before last call, you can still hear Johnny, Larry and their bands playin' that great old beer joint country, music. Also, you can probably hear Ray announcing, "you ol' boys put those girls down now."
Made many trips around the dance floor to Johnny Bush singing. RIP Johnny Bush Texas Music Legend
RIP,Your music will play forever. Thanks for the memories.

WOW!? What a voice! Loved him all through the years. Danced many rounds around the dance floors to his Great Honky Tonk music. One of the GREATS!
A True TEXAS treasure ❣
Thee perfect trifecta Johnny Bush....Fiddle.....& The pedal steel guitar.. This is my kinda country..
I love his version of this song the band spot on I love to play the progressive piano on this
I had a cool thing happen. I met a volunteer at the local thrift store. He's a Metis steel player named Tom Seesequasis. We talked story for hours. What a great, soft-spoken man, with lots of road stories. It was kind of like "Watermelon Wine", or "The Gambler" talking with him - except nobody died at the end of our time together. I showed this video to him, and he just up and named all the players and told me he knew or played with most of them. Johnny did this gig in Prince Albert, SK, of all places. Prairie Fire was a very popular band in Saskatchewan. They definitely backed Johnny like the pros they are.
Great song
Me drinking a beer at 8 am before work listening to this....lol 👌
