I dont care how bad people think the prequels where, John Williams made one amazing job with the music for every single one of the prequels.

Not directly referring to the pre-equals- but the great thing about going to a movie scores by John Williams is that even when the film turns out to be inept- you can close your eyes and still be marvelously entertained.

Perhaps controversial, but in my opinion, the actual incidental/background music of the Star Wars only got better and better from A New Hope to Rise of Skywalker. Perhaps the new trilogy doesn’t have as many new “themes” that will become iconic, but the actual scoring is at its best there.

Wait you prefer episodes 4-6 over the prequel trilogy??

I was 10 when the original Star Wars came out. Soon I had the double LP soundtrack. Then the Superman score on LPs. This taught me to listen to music without words. At age 17 I was helping clean out my Mom's closet and discovered LPs of Beethoven's 5th Schubert's Unfinished Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto- this began a life-long love affair. Thanks Mr.Williams!

Lol at the "Second Flute..... Still at dinner". I didn't realise John Williams had that charismatic ability to be critical yet humorous- a skill few conductors possess.

+adam4757 I know he's made a career out of wearing turtle-necks, in this case (and that specific moment) he looks really snooty. I'm sure he meant to be facetious with the 'dinner' remark but his body language is a bit off.

zoltan902 It's called professionalism, not snootiness. A certain amount of assertive effort is required on the part of the director when they're counting on dozens of others to produce a desired result.

“Still at Du-Nuh” (quieter version of the imperial march theme. DA-DA-Da-Nuh” he is saying it specifically to the flutes to keep the march theme on beat. Then he makes his gesture holding his hand up which I thought meant “hey look…it’s now a solo” meaning, he knows his whole score like the back of his hand and he’s like showing them “I know what each and every one of you are doing” but I didn’t think he was being snooty, I think confident and playful.

Awesome!!! I love how they used that couple of shots that were cut for Duel of the Fates. Those shots as well as a couple more are on the DVD.
