LYRICS:
Hark! how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
"Throw cares away."
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
To young and old
Meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From ev'rywhere
Filling the air
Oh how they pound
Raising the sound
O'er hill and dale
Telling their tale
Joyf'ly they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
On, on they send
On without end
Their joyful tone
To ev'ry home
[Repeat from the beginning]

"Carol of the Bells" is a popular Christmas carol, which is based on the Ukrainian song called "Shchedryk.” The music to “Carol of the Bells” was taken from the original Ukrainian song written by Mykola Leontovych while the English-language lyrics were written by Peter Wilhousky.

Hello! This is an English adaptation of the legendary "Shchedryk" written by Mykola Leontovych. Shchedryk was first performed in 1860 in Paris, by a choir of students from the Kyiv Theological Academy under the direction of Mykola Lysenko. However, the best performance of Shchedryk throughout Europe and at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 was by the Ukrainian Choir under the direction of Oleksandr Koshytsia.

I agree with the names listed, but this composition was not composed by John Williams. I don't know why someone still signs that this is his composition when it is not. The composition was composed 80 years before the appearance of the movie Home Alone.

You listed really all the top composers in the filmscore industry. I have heard almost every composition and movies of theirs (I have it downloaded soundtracks on my laptop). I would also add Nino Rota (The Godfather) or Ennio Morricone on this list. As for this composition, it is Ukrainian. John Williams did the music for the film Home Alone but did not compose Carol of the Bells. I checked and Wikipedia says what I mentioned to you (name of composer) Home Alone: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 12. "Carol of the Bells" (Mykola Leontovych) 1:24 Leontovych wrote "Shchedryk" (Carol of the Bells) in 1914. @@FromtheFuture0
