I love Tine, I've been playing for 40 years, she has influenced my playing in a way. I wish she would put up more videos.

40+yrs ago I played trumpet in UK school orchestras and can remember girls playing trumpet & cornet & trombone. Until today I never knew girls had ever been barred from playing brass.

If it's any consolation, you are 10 hours ahead of me. 😅

I love her diplomacy. It must have been tempting just to tell John, lovely guy though he is, to cut out the silly, sexist rubbish about big embouchures and the like.

And just as I was looking forward to hearing these two play together the video finished. Sooooo disappointing!.

I was 9 years old when my father who taught me music, asked me to pick an instrument to play on. I saw a female student in school who was playing a French Horn and decided that is my instrument! She was probably 12 and the year was 1963. So it wasn’t unheard of for girls and women to play a brass instrument. I played the French Horn in the school band with that student and continued playing in bands and orchestras for about 10 years
