​@@dcat266 you did not know that ? It is mentioned in the opening credits of every episode: based on the TV series "Kommisar Rex" created by Peter Hajek and Peter Moser. Originally it was a co-poduction of TV stations ORF (Austria) and Sat.1 (Germany) between 1994-2004, set in Vienna. It was rebooted by Italian Station Rai Uno from 2007-2014, this time set in Rome, but still linked to the original production ... The series ran for a total of 214 episodes.

It is a real love between John and Diesel .

I love Hudson &Rex. My brother was a deputy sheriff and had a K-9 partner for part of his career. Watching this show, helps me feel closer to my brother since his passing in 2020. I hope it keeps going! Rex, love you boy 💙🦴🐾🐾

What an absolute gem this show is. I was so excited when it first came on tv. I watched Kommisar Rex (Austrian) years ago and loved it. I think Diesel is a gorgeous dog and to watch the excellent relationship he has with John is just amazing. Now I can enjoy all of these shows. Thanks to all of the crew, John and of course Rex. I love this show. It's the first time in a long time that one of the main characters is a German Sheppard. The last time I remember a Canadian show featuring a dog is The Littlest Hobo and that was back in the late 1970"s/ 80"s. Season 6 is fantastic. I love every episode from every season and watch it over and over again.

I noticed that the same company that puts out Hudson & Rex also puts out the Murdock series. Their faith in the Murdock series gives me hope that this series will continue for a few more years. I have not missed one episode of of either show. Canadian TV has a much higher quality of TV series!

Great TV series based on an exceptional relationship between a detective and his canine partner filmed in beautiful NFLD.

We are watching season 5 in the uk on the Now Box, think it’s the last two episodes coming up. Love the show. Appreciate all the work that goes into training Diesel, although he’s a natural on screen and appears to know exactly what is going on and takes everything in. ❤

I stumbled on this show on ION Plus here in the US. I really like this show and have watched it numerous times. I hope the DVDs get released here some day because I would buy them.
