He’s correct, but It’ll definitely make you look better when playing hahahaha. It could make you play better aswell, I find that my playing hits it’s peak when I’m most comfortable and that depends on all of the guitars specs, contours and shape. A guitar like this with a thin non gloss neck and low action would definitely suit my needs and would allow me to play more quick and accurate. I find that guitars that aren’t gloss allow you to slide around and move your arms and hands more freely instead of having friction which slows you down. Of course the tone would also be amazing and it’s the same guitar he uses so it’s at least a step closer to playing like him.

I feel this is mostly off topic from your intention, but I've always kind of made a joke to myself along those lines as observed from their live DVDs. His change from Ibanez to Music Man seemed mostly inconsequential to me, but the MOMENT he cut his hair was a decided marker in differences in his performance: after Metropolis 2000 he lost most of his quirks and animation. First DVD of theirs I got was Budokan, so it was really weird picking up others (in high school, so one at a time after saving haha) and seeing the same man barely any younger and outwardly having fun with the performance and audience. The change was so drastic that it seemed like he had a lobotomy with his haircut hahaha

It's the Triaxis. It's absolutely unforgiving. I play one for the last 3-4 years and when I started with it, I was like "WTF???" you play a bum note, it tells and it chokes...I Sticked with it, it's my favourite tone of all times now. And the effect it had on my playing was enormous. I can play through any shit now and my skills are so solid and trustworthy, I don't give a damn. Especially through a Marshall-y/EVH kind of tone, I feel I don't even have to try. Buy a Triaxis if you wanna be better at guitar.

Is it just me, or is that opening riff a slower version of what ended up in the False Awakening Suite? I've seen DT 25+ times since first seeing them in '97, and I still miss the Picasso from those early tours (including the '99 LTE show I saw at the Roxy in LA). A visual reference that makes me nostalgic.
