John Paul and Carter look so good together I hope they end up together Carter deserves to be himself and John Paul deserves to be happy I hope they get together ❤️

I'm hoping this storyline builds to one glorious moment when Carter finally grows a pair and announces to everyone who he really is and who he really loves. John Paul watches Carter's speech and is so proud, and our boys finally get to really be the cute couple we saw at the beginning of this clip.

Yes, he's lovely, isn't he. But they never allow any of his relationships to work, so I fear he's in for more heartbreak with Carter. Pity, because they are so good together and the chemistry is fantastic. Cheers Jenny. Terry

Carter and John Paul looked so great walking together at the beginning of this episode, both happy in each other's company and looking like a real couple, which was so nice. The show's writers could develop something really special between them here, but they seem to think their audience wants to see break-ups and turmoil, whereas I reckon the majority of us would love to see these two get together?

david needs to be nominated next year for something to do with this storyline or his acting, he’s so good

Carter inadvertently created a monster in Gareth. Also, if this storyline is supposedly heading in the conversion therapy direction for Lucas too, then it makes no sense. Lucas grew up in a gay friendly environment and he doesn't have a religious bone in his body. Religion-based conversion therapy isn't a believable option for him.

The chemistry between Carter and John Paul is fantastic ... but the writers never allow any of John Paul's relationships to work out, so I fear he and we are in for more heartbreak. Surely they can let John Paul finally have a relationship which is fulfilling and loving ... he deserves it and I'm sure we would all love to see he and Carter settle down together as a supportive and loving couple, rather than having some heart-wrenching bust up. Personally. I believe if the writers developed their relationship properly, then they could be fantastic together, along the lines of Robert & Aaron or Ben and Callum?

Well, if they gave Ste a stable 6 year marriage with the annoyingly pompous James, surely they can give something concrete to JohnPaul. The only good relationship he had was the few months he had with Craig, but everything else was horrible. They always give him terrible closet cases like Kieron the priest, George Kiss the policeman, a drugged out Ste, a pompous James ,etc

@@petermukasa3093 Absolutely, Peter. When you look back at John Paul's relationships it has been one disaster after another, as you point out. And when you look at his relationships, it's like they've given him a go with every gay man in sight! And always a disaster! Same with Ste .... is there any gay man in the village that Ste hasn't fallen in love with??! I'm a gay man, and I know we can be promiscuous, but Hollyoaks is like a gay musical chairs! That is probably where their relationship is headed. Obviously nothing ever lasts on HO but I would assume Carter and JP will be together properly at the end of this storyline.

@itsonlysound that will be interesting to see. Putting aside Carter's internalised self-loathing, did he really forgive and move on from the accident where JP put his daughter in a wheelchair? I would be hesitant to sleep next to someone whose child I paralysed, accident or otherwise. What if he strangles me in the night?

It's still very real for people coming from conservative and/or religious backgrounds. Not everybody gets to be "out" from birth and have their family accept it
