GUITAR CHORDS It's my house and I live here.. Dm7 - Am7 - Gm7 - C There's a welcome mat at the door... F - Am7 - Gm7 - C Cause it was built for love... Fmaj7 - Fmaj7/E (Root: A string 7th fret) - D7 - Gm7 - C (slide on the E string for that extra crispy edge) It's my house.... etc. The last 'It was built for love' part has a little "lick". The Gm7 is played (with the bottom three strings (EAD) ) like: 35X - 53X - 63X - 335 Use bar chords if you can, it'll make it sound way better. John is mostly using his thumb for the root note (like he always does). Using regular bar chords is working fine for me as well. Good luck out there, I enjoyed learning to play the song a lot! Let me know if you are using other chords ;)

If you knew some basic 1st grade theory you would know that Gmaj is not in the key of Fmajor. the chords in Fmajor are F - Gm - Am - Bb - C - Dm - Edim. Go read some books before you act like a know it all.

I always liked and respected John Mayer, but let me tell you and I'm sure I speak for Andy Cohen as a big Diana fan this rendition is amazing because this song is one of those album gems that didnt become big hits, only her diehard fans know about. John knocked this out of the park!!

Didn't know about the surgery but, imho John's weak link had always been his lack of vocals to match his genius and literally making any guitar do whatever he wants it to do. Best guitar player ever. I was surprised by his vocal range and vocal dexterity at this setting.

After damaging his chords he def got smart and took voice lessons which definitely paid off. His vocals have come a long way from the first live shows.

That's one song every die hard Diana Ross fan knows but not one of her biggest hits. "The Boss" album doesn't have a bad track on it. He performed it very well indeed. Another Diana Ross song that was not a big hit but sounds SO GOOD (just downloaded a remix of it) is "Surrender". Ms. Ross was REALLY into that one and delivers an exuberant vocal. Andy is adept at hamming for the camera but his reaction here is sincere and child-like. Love it.

That was AMAZING. I think he needs to officially do this as a cover song and put it on one of his albums. So good.
