one thing I always respect about john, is that he always seems present and engaged in his interviews. I like that, it's him giving his respect to whoever he's giving his time to. we don't know how he's feeling when he does an interview, but he always gives his full attention. I respect that about him and I think it's kind of an underrated trait of his.

that's a good point, a lot of artists kinda seem halfway interested or sort of just give blase answers...John always seems to put thought into his answers, which of course we have come to expect from him!

John's ability to engage is definitely an underrated quality of his that is not really appreciated by the wider public... I'd be honored if some old-school John Mayer fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal cover of his great composition CLARITY on my channel in tribute to the boss. The worst part about hero worship is: the second they show themselves to be the slightest bit human you kick them off that pedestal hard, so I don't recommend it. He's just a guy, like me or you. And he has some fun with a guitar.

Mayer is an odd but likable fellow who kind of grows on you. For some reason many people don't see him for what he truly is besides a singer/ song writer: he's a brilliant guitar player ! Mayer's tone is just incredible and his phrasing, time and riffs are truly world class.

Love this dude. Just saw him perform and I’d gladly pay double the price. He and his crew gave an amazing performance. He truly appreciates his fans.

Saw him on the Heavier Things tour and I'm still not over it! So amazing. The opening act was a little band with one hit song. They were called Maroon 5. Wonder whatever happened to those guys. 😎

I saw JM at the Fox in Boulder, CO before Room for Squares came out. He was the opening act. Nobody knew anything about him. Acoustic set, no backing band. He broke a string on his first song, calmly told a few jokes while he restrung. He started over again and won the crowd over. I went home and downloaded his demos. Fan f

His comment about the days in between reminds me of the line, "...but a legends only a lonely boy when he goes home alone.".

I love how genuine all his answers are ahhhh missing him so bad. Honestly I can't move on from his show in London last week :(

I just love this man’s music and voice, “Born and Raised” & “Battle Studies” are my personal two favorite albums from him, but his musical overall has been my go too in times when needed...💙👏🏽🧑🏻‍🦱

100% agree with him about the '9 year old that can play purple haze' While it's incredible to watch and spot on to Hendrix, it's also entirely too precise sounding, and also extremely calculated. Soulless would maybe be too harsh of a word, but it's the only one I can think of right now. That's not to say that 9 year old wouldn't one day become a Hendrix in his own way, but experiences, life, love, heartbreak, hurt, pain physically and mentally... ALL OF LIFE'S EXPERIENCES is what gives artists and their playing expression. And I'm not saying a 9 year old hasn't gone through any of it, but he won't reach his true potential until he experiences ALL OF IT. Thanks to anyone who read this! Much love!

He made way more than 7 million this past year. He toured by himself and made 13.4 million and then he toured with dead and company and got an undisclosed cut of their 15.9 million. That doesn't include merchandise, sponsorship, streams, etc. He makes way more than most in the music industry.

@@amberperson9418 where did you get any of those numbers? I'm the biggest JM fan (as far as I'm concerned) and I haven't read these. I know his net worth jumped like $15M last year but any celebrity will tell you that those numbers are ridiculous

I would not mind spending an off-day with John in The Netherlands. He always seems so genuine and cool. Not to party, but have a nice conversation with coffee!

He has matured into such a self aware , articulate man who knows what's really going on around him. His genuine interest in others is admirable.

I love John Mayer, but his choice of words come off as an attempt to sound more intelligent in places - he uses the word 'ambulatory' incorrectly at the end of the video, for instance (which typically translates to 'to be able to walk'). I'm guilty of doing the exact same thing in everyday discourse, and often think it's walking the fine line between appreciating the nuances of language and flaunting vocabulary. But I know I'm a bit of a pretentious cunt sometimes, and I don't doubt that Mayer would have the self-awareness to confess the same if queried.
