He got compared to Dave Matthews early on, only because there weren't many acoustic songwriter types to draw comparison to.. I never saw the correlation, they're completely different IMO. The David Gray comparison seems a bit more apt. The real truth is that John is in a place all his own... even when Room for Squares came out, no one was playing those jazzy ' thumb' chords in pop music

He’s said numerous times he’d play for 6 hours every day when he came home from school.... “If music was something I had to work for I’d never have done it” and also he’s also stated that he got his first guitar at age 13 after being inspired by The Back to the future guitar scene.... “I started playing music when I was 3 or 4” I’m just confused

He mentioned playing piano at 3 or 4. As for the hard work, he said it came naturally so there was really no hard work if he genuinely enjoyed it. Don’t watch on mute next time ;)

Agree with you bro..... most of the time he mentioned he started music journey at the age of 13. But I cannot stop myself to be his fan, i just love his music I would say i am just mad for his music 🥰😇

JM started playing the guitar at 13 because of Back To The Future but he has mentioned that his dad had a piano at home. In fact, he actually got that same piano moved to his house in recent years along with some sheet music his dad had.

He's actually 1,91 tall... Well, i'm 1,79, and the first time i saw him personally back in 2013, i was surprised of his height hahahah. I was an ant next to him.
