    I laugh when people complain about John Mayer's singing. He's a guitar player who taught himself how to sing exactly well enough to sell a record. That's what you're paying for at a concert- not a songwriter/singer, a songwriter/guitar player. And a damn good one at that.

    What I love about John is that he is as organic as you can get. Real ! ! ! No auto tune. He's not a machine he's a real person and real people are not perfect everytime. They grow, change, and evolve. The difference is he is sharing with us.......look at yourself. What were you into 5 years ago? What are you into now? .....Keep growing John. Real fans will grow with you.

    Good solo, but I like the "Where The Light Is One Better". Not only is it longer, John does a great job of building up to the climax. It had a Santana feel to it.

    Philip Callado am i the only one who does not like the live in la versions? It sounds too clean for a guitar solo for me. I prefer raw and gritty solos by john like this one.

    @@ronjhayespeleta4164 This one doesn't really sound gritty to me, it sounds like he just put in 5 licks cause he had no time to actually express himself.

  • @Gyrosminator

    Must have been his in ear microphone. Check out 2:08 hes giving eye contact to the sound engineer. The moment you go falsetto you have trouble figuring out if you´re on the right track when you dont have monitoring...hence, i dont think hes in a bad form (hes singing the chest voice pretty good), yet he surely got drunk the night before. Peace and love

    His vocals seem a tad shakier than usual, but I'm sure that it's just a bad day. I will also say that it is astounding to see how much more mature his guitar-playing sounds compared even from as early as Where the Light Is.

  • @thejoshlee22
    @thejoshlee2214 жыл бұрын

    A lot of it has to do with that WTLI (Which is what I'm assuming you are basing this comment on) is a completely mixed/remastered/studio edited show, whereas this show is completely live soundwise. That being said, his voice is sounding a bit subpar, but I'm sure he'll bring it back around. It's been a while since he's been on the road. He sounded great on all the shows I've seen him play.
