"And I will at some point want to, need to make a record that I say ya know, let's put this out in a different way, let's put this out in a way that doesn't expect to sell a lot of copies. I need to do this for me in this labor of love." Born and Raised my friends.

I always thought "So much wasted in the afternoon. So much sacred in the month of June. How bout you? " meant a June wedding. Just because he's talking about a relationship and at the very beginning of the song he says "The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain". "Worried about rainy weather", "Remaining in our lives together". It made sense to me. It's also the song I've over played the most. I love clarity.

100% agree that john is one of the few artists nowadays that have the ability to balance art with commerce. He´s such a genuinely original artist! He´s not interested in being at the top list of most played, he just into making the music that he wants to share, not with the world music business patters, but with his own patterns and influences.

thanks for uploading this. its cool to hear his explanation for continuing to make pop music instead of going heavy into blues.

I don’t know. Once it exists I will finish it no matter how long it takes! The incubation time may vary but time is still immaterial. There is only a continuous now no matter how long that is.

it always amazes me when the people doing these types of interviews seem like the most boring, uninterested people in the world....I mean i have no professional "interviewing" skills but i think I could do a lot better or at least have some interest and ask questions in an engaging way
