I started praying for a wife when I was a teenager. God provided me with the Girl of my dreams. And that's the truth. We were married 49 years. She went home to be with the Lord. I'm waiting my turn.

Brothers marriage is a gift and a beautiful thing. But I encourage you to read 1 Corinthians 7. So helpful in understanding that we should be wholly devoted and content in the Lord. Paul even encourages men and women to be as himself in you are spiritually mature enough and can keep your passions under control. Because your interests won’t be divided, but you can be fully devoted to serving the Lord. Whereas, getting married can come with worldly concerns and problems, and a greater responsibility to balance your ministry to Christ and your attention to your family. It’s all about understanding that we are to serve Christ first in all ways, that should be the motive and we should be content in Christ first. However, if we marry, we do not sin, so long as she is a believer, devoted to the Lord. Also making sure that you are marrying with the understanding that Christ is your first love, it is temporal and is another way to serve Christ in ways you could not if you were single

I’m a huge fan of MacArthur, however, he’s over simplifying this. The two greatest threats to modern marriage, especially men pursuing marriage, is mainly feminism, and next pornography.

I can understand where he’s coming from considering that over 50% of marriages are divorce and if you get divorced, you will not see your child because it will be given to the wife You were financially drained because you had to pay for her attorney and your attorney and many things go wrong But at the same time it’s all about just having faith that you do what you have to do before you married. This young lady that she meets all the curriculums that she is a great girl and I believe that she will meet all or close to the ways of the Lord before you marry her the Lord Jesus will help you through this time. also, before you go down the altar, if you have any reason why you should not get married, don’t get married and if you’re sleeping together before you get married and doing things that are not right, you should not get married all these things will prevent a divorce and have a marriage.

MacArthur should be encouraging women to stop filing 80% of divorces and to truly submit to their husbands. The fact that MacArthur doesn't understand why young men aren't stepping up to the alter proves that Macarthur is just too old to understand how things have changed since he got married.

Maybe if men stop being irresponsible, abusive and unfaithful that would happen. Some be talking about submission thinking it's silence oppression.men not wanting to be told that what you're doing might be irresponsible or selfish doesn't mean one isn't being submissive.

From his lofty throne well above the "little" ones below, the preacher takes questions. I'm surprised Mr MacArthur doesn't first make them bow down to him in submission before they offer up their question.

Its not uncommon to have a pulpit that's higher than the seats. In a big church it allows everyone to see the preacher that would not be able to had it been leveled. In some more reformed traditions its often symbolic of the Word being elevated in thr service. Even in my more laid back Pentecostal tradition the pulpit is higher so eveyone can see.

I have to disagree somewhat. Women sont need a savior or a deagon slayer. They already have one....Christ. We dont want ti be trasted as, or viewed as, damsels in distress. If youre looking for the right woman, you dont need to rescue her from loneliness or an unfulfilling life... She isnt lonely or unfulfilled if she is full in Christ. If shes isnt, your looking for the wrong girl. I do agree that the men need to stand up. We want a man to actually be the man. Confidence (not haugtiness) is attractive. Stop docusing on finding someone and start asking God what he wants drom you to finish preparing you and chastening you to be the potential he sees in u and wants in u and also what she will need you to be for her. When the focus becomes how you can better yourself to prepare for a joyful marriage, rather than finding someone soon, and you aren't necessarily looking, but waiting dor the right girl to come along, things will fall i to place. But when she does come along, i agree with him...STEP IT UP and ask her out. Fight for her. Women love warriors.

I don't think it's fair to pile all these extra expectations on men simply because they weren't born with a uterus. I understand that males are less valuable in nature, but we should no longer be living as the world does.
