My dad passed recently from cancer. I'm excited to see him again. Its making me cry thinking about this amazing reunion. 🙂🙂

my brother the Lord took him Sunday afternoon and he was 75 and born with severe brain damage and body problems. tomorrow I speak at his funeral may the God of all comfort, comfort you in Jesus' name.

To all of those who endlessly debate escatology and the rapture and then go belittle their brethren in Christ because they have a different understanding of Revelation and the End of Days than yours, I have to say shame on you! To call this man a false teacher is a gross injustice because I know he has preached the truth with as clear accuracy as a human possibly can. He has preached every single verse of the Bible over the course of 50 years and has studied it daily without fail. He takes great care to ensure that his preaching is consistent with biblical truth. That being said, it is still possible to err, but if he is to err, it is not to lead others to deception and destruction, as John Macarthur is fully aware of the consequences of doing so. He has preached on these topics himself several times. Why would he risk eternal damnation, blaspheming God by knowingly misrepresenting God's Word? It doesn't make sense for a man who has faithfully preached time and time again. If you have a disagreement with him or anyone else for anything Theological, then provide Scripture to prove your point. The issue is the interpretation of Scripture and how it fits in the chronological timeline, but we often forget that the purpose of Revelation and Prophecy is to show God's glory in how He will restore the Earth to Obedience and to an intimate relationship with Him. It is not simply to tell the future of what is come. Our focus should be to continue to work of the Great Commission, not on the future of this world because it will one day return to nothing. If you believe and are truly saved, your Eternity is set to be with God forever, and on that, every true preacher of the Gospel agrees one hundred percent.

Though I agree with Mr. MaCarthur 99% of the time, I don’t see a pre-trib rapture. The Word of God teaches, He will keep His people from the day of His wrath!! Yes we will be taken up “at the Lord’s coming” “with the trumpet of God” 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, but to make this as pre-trib rapture doesn’t fly! Again, 1 Corinthians 15:23 “at His (Jesus) coming” doesn’t teach me anything about a pre-tib rapture! It says at His Coming, when is that must be established “from scripture” not someone’s teaching. How Mr MaCArthur relates John 14 to the rapture is beyond me though? Can anyone show in the history of the Church, the doctrine of the rapture? The only thing I can find, started in the mid to late 1800’s, through a man named Darby. What we don’t see is the foot hold that Satan gets, when we take a simple passage in scripture, where the Apostle Paul is simply comforting the congregants of Thessalonicia, and turn it into a doctrine; and we in turn argue about it. Let’s take the advice of Paul Washer, when he say’s: you will know all you need to know about the second advent of Christ, when the second advent happens. Great advice for the Church! Are we as willing to go into all the world with the promulgation of the Glorious Gospel, as we are willing to argue over an event that will take place when He see’s fit? Do we argue about 2 Timothy 2:10 enduring all things for His elect? Or 1 Timothy 4:9-10 or what about 2 Corinthians 5:15? Don’t get me wrong, we must contend for The Faith, Jude 3; we are falling into a trap otherwise though. We contend for the faith, not for our version of it, it is God’s Gospel, so let’s seek His glory, and not our own!

I do not know if his timetable is correct, but I believe that he desires to honor God and honor God’s word; there are some other pastors that also I believe want to honor God and his word, and they may disagree with him on some eschatology, but we are to love one another, not get caught up in times and controversies and have strife; so thank you for your comment.

Dr. Mc Arthur knows well of the written scripture, but antagonistic toward anything supernatural in the Bible. You are missing out if signs, wonders, and miracles of God in the book of Acts especially is ignored.

I just got into a few arguments about this with some church leaders. I was called "ridiculous" at the pulpit from a pastor, for suggesting No Judgement for the Marriage Supper of The Lamb. I had no chance to discuss this. It made me realize how dangerous a one way communication pulpit is. Also, The 10 virgins parable, I think is directly linked to this too.

McArthur just puts it all together with his knowledge of the word.

@@ianbrown9099 Revelation 3:10 says, "I will keep you from the time of testing that will come upon the whole world." But the word translated as "keep" is the Greek word "tereo." Look in a Greek concordance. It means "to guard or protect by keeping the eye upon." It does not mean "to take out."

Sonny I pray that you will find the truth before the rapture. You don’t have to believe any pastor. Don’t let anyone on the Internet tell you what to believe. You can be SURE that you will find the truth in the Bible. The Lord is true and faithful, and He LOVES you. If you TRULY want to know if God is real and the Bible is His Word, ask Him! Find a quiet place away from distractions, get on your knees before the Lord and clear your mind of clutter. With a sincere heart, ask the Lord if He is real, if He loves you, and if He came to die for you. Because if He did, you want to know and worship a Him. He will respond. When He does, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and invite Him to come live in your heart. You will feel like the weight of the world is off of your shoulders. Once you read and study God’s Word, you will know the TRUTH. Then, when you use online resources, you will know who the false teachers are because their sermons and speeches contradict God’s Word. You also need to consider, pastors and those who are legitimately teaching God’s Word will be under attack by satanic forces that will lie, bring false witness, etc. against men and women of God so that no one will listen and learn from them. The pastors and teachers you need to watch out for are the ones who have never been under attack from the enemy. The enemy doesn’t attack false teachers because he wants people to believe lies. satan is not called the father of lies for nothing😁 May you find the TRUTH!

I am sorry but you can tell people all day long to get saved but they will not until and only until the creator saves them which he did long ago for me and he has had me on this issue for a very long time and what I find is more than can be explained. You need to go and do some critical analysis of what you think is true but isn't. Revelations wrote by a man who called himself John the Divine. I have been a Christian and a student and teacher of Eschatology (end-times) for 3 decades and I cannot believe how so much of the Church has abandoned this teaching. In my videos I show how Seal 6 is the Gog/Magog war of Ezekiel 38-39. I am also convinced that Trumpets 1-6 are the LORD's response to the Gog/Magog invasion which are prior to Rev 11 the 7 years. If you read the Trumpet judgments they are terrifying. I pray the Rapture is prior to Seal 1 but I also recognize that God's wrath doesn't come until Seal 6. So I try to prepare for both. Either way from my understanding it's still "pre-7 years" I just think the "Covenant with many" facilitated by the Antichrist comes after the Gog/Magog war where the whole world sees the God of Israel is alive and well. Jesus is not talking about the rapture in John 17, he is praying that the disciples should be in the world (not taken out) as the ones to share the gospel and asking for their protection from the evil one.

Amen. Let not your heart be troubled. Good verse. I’ve been rather troubled by the post-trib and post-Millennial views because while I know I’ll see some kind of persecution, I don’t want to starve because I won’t take the mark or die a thousand other deaths by the wrath of God. If the challenge is deny Christ or die, of course I pick the latter, but if the challenge is you have no hope because the world has gone nuts and you’ll die indiscriminately with the rest of unbelievers when 1/4 and 1/3 of the world dies in the judgments... then I’m terrified. I always believed in the Rapture but had shaken lately because I couldn’t find good teachers outside of WoF supporting the rapture. Thankful for JMAC.

Well the only problem with the pre-trib Rapture is the fact that it mentions the Saints after chapter 2 . in the Book of Revelation chapter 13 it talks about the Beast of Revelation in verse 7 of chapter 13 it says, it was given unto him to make war with the Saints and to overcome them and power was given him over all kindreds and tongues and Nations.

@@MegaPaul1973 How? Supposedly the Holy Spirit in the Church will be taken from the earth at a pre-trib rapture. Jesus said that "No one comes to the Father except the Spirit draw them". If the Holy Spirit is gone, how will people come to Christ? Or maybe, since the Father is unwilling that any should perish, maybe the Father will use us, the believers full of the Holy Spirit to lead people to Christ during those perilous times.

Revelation 3:10 says, "I will keep you from the time of testing that will come upon the whole world." But the word translated as "keep" is the Greek word "tereo." Look in a Greek concordance. It means "to guard or protect by keeping the eye upon." It does not mean "to take out."

Fancy words don’t impress our savior . Loving hearts and minds do it for Him . By Loving Him , the world Will know .

One of the finest verses pointing to the catching away of the Church is found in Luke 21: 36 ... After warning of the judgments to come the Lord, Himself says there will be those who escape "all these things that shall come to pass."... The English word escape is translated from the Greek verb ekphugo which literally means "to flee by flight" "to vanish"..In that one verse the Lord states there will be those who escape (vanish), the means of that escape and where one will be at the moment of that escape..."to stand before the Son of Man."..Even so come, Lord Jesus !! Shalom and Maranatha!!

Yes. But our Interpretation on the implications of its timing and specifics aren’t. Dispensationalists cannot deal with any other eschatological interpretation on the rapture. It’s pure futurism.

True, the word 'rapture' is not in scripture, but 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says, 'Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.' The word 'rapture' has just been used to give a name to the event.

For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 peter 4:17 does this verse contradict the rapture?

I agree and think it has to be 2 events. In Matthew 24 37-41 the saved remain on earth. In 1 Thessalonians 4 16-7 all believers meet the Lord in the air. Thessalonians is the rapture. Matthew is the 2nd coming where those who come to faith during tribulation and live survive into millinial kingdom to procreate.

Two Phases of the Second Coming of Jesus: 1. At the rapture moment, Christ comes for His church. 2. At the Second Coming, Christ returns with His church.

Where in Scripture dose it say there is two phases to the resurrection of the righteous. The Scriptures defiantly says there is two resurrections for the righteous and the wicked but all Scripture passages dealing with the resurrection places it at Christ's return, singular event! No accredited Biblical historian would support that a Pretrib rapture was ever taught in the first 300 years of the early Church.

In the second coming, we are coming with him dressed in white, to observe. His feet will touch the ground at the mount of olives. At the rapture,(7 yrs prior)we met Him in the air, His feet don't touch the ground. Read your bibles.

@@theboypresident2633 I do not know you, but you seem to have a small opinion of God's ability to do anything. All HE has to do is Say something...and it is true...becomes reality. Refer to Genesis.

Pre trib and post trib caught up preachers both make valid point when they speak. Although when I read the bible I always see "elects going thru it", which I always understand as we going thru it, not escape, and will only be picked up at the moment the Son of God appears. But I'm still a baby and don't have much knowledge bout theology. These preachers contradicting each others makes me not want to listen to them about the end times anymore because of confusion. I'll prob just stick to reading the bible and just walk uprightly enduring til the end. Whether we go thru it or not.

That is exactly what I do. I read the Bible and make up my own mind and follow no one blindly. However, I'm also still a baby but because of these contradictions I decided to pray about it, and study it myself. I came to the same conclusion you did. Through the tribulation, we will go but will be spared when God pours out his wrath. The when in my opinion is not really important. What is important is to be ready whenever it happens. I would be happy if it is pretrib of course, but that is just not how I read it. What many people forget is that the Wrath of God, will be many times worse than any tribulation the antichrist brings on to throw our way. God loved his son, and he did not spare him. What makes us think that we should be better off than the son. Anyways I'm not looking for arguments with those who believe otherwise. We should all work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

@@leeleec8490 yes! The great wrath of God is what we will surely escape... It's also important to note that many elects will fall from faith during great tribulation. These people are probably the ones that are too confident about pre-trib that when they find themselves in the midst of the great tribulation, seeing their love ones killed and ripped open infront of them, they will start hating and questioning God... But conditioning ourselves to prepare for the worse will give us better fighting chance to persevere and keep our Faith high til the end. *Church of Philadelphia* I'm really hoping it's pre-trib though!

@@ValkieezUkelele, you are right. I prepare myself for the worst and if I am wrong then great! I have read some comments where people who are pretrib say what kind of God would make his bride suffer, and I just think the same God, who sacrificed his son for us. Somebody even said than what kind of Blessed Hope is he, if he allows us to suffer. Can you believe that someone would actually say that? So you are probably right, those turning away from God will probably be these pretribbers. Because how dare the Almighty God make his bride go through suffering? The Bible is clear that if we follow Him, we shall be persecuted. My 15 year old told me these people are so focused on God's love, that they forget to have the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom. He says they forget this loving God is the same one who flooded the earth. Never forget that God is not just love, he is just and cannot go against his nature. Just the fact that this pretrib is so popular even in Hollywood tells me that I need to flee from that. Sometimes people so exalt these preachers as if they are a modern day, Jesus. I think the best thing I did was to just read the bible myself, praying for wisdom and an understanding of the Word, and that the Lord will reveal his truth to me through his scriptures, so that I cannot be taken in by false preachers no matter how popular they are. Especially as I am a baby in Christ and if I listen only to men, could be easily deceived. I pray daily that I am not one of those who says Lord, but I have prophesied in your name and drove out demons in your name just to be told: Go away, I do not know you. It is very clear that verse is talking about Christians because who else will drive out demons in Jesus' name.

Historians agree that the gospels (written in Greek, by unknown authors, from 70 to 140CE) portray Jesus as famous far and wide, a prophet and healer, with great multitudes of people who knew about him, including the greatest Jewish high priests and the Roman authorities of the area, and not one person records his existence during his lifetime? If the poor, the rich, the rulers, the highest priests, and the scribes knew about Jesus, who would not have heard of him? Amazingly, we have not one Jewish, Greek, or Roman writer, even those who lived in the Middle East, much less anywhere else on the earth, whoever mention him during his supposed life time. This appears quite extraordinary, and you will find few Christian apologists who dare mention this embarrassing fact. All myth! Seek the truth!

Pierre M The Roman historians Josephus and Tacitus both specific mentioned Jesus. Many parts of the Talmud discuss Jesus, mostly in a negative light. Only liberal scholars who are trying to discredit the Gospel use the timeframes that you quoted. There are fragments from Mark and John that date to the early 50s AD and The Revelation of Jesus Christ and John’s epistles were likely the last NT letters between 85 and 95 AD. Jesus loves you and died to save you. Seek the truth and speak the truth!

Thanks for sharing. So rapture is a post-tribulation, pre-wrath rapture, which happens slightly after the mid-point of Daniel’s seventieth week.

AMEN!......John MacArthur said you can take the Mark and still be saved = WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING = AVOID HIM!!

There is so much that is contrary to consistent Holy Spirit inspired teaching on what Tribulation is. Go back to the Bible and read what the Lord and all His Apostles teach regarding the Christian life. The only guarantee you have as a Christian are trouble, persecution, Tribulation, call it what you will. However there is a greater guarantee that the Lord Jesus Christ in whom you have believed will deliver you through every one of these problems. Remember how Daniel and his friends were delivered, not by being"snatched away" when Nebuchadnezzar tried to burn them but to allow them to be put in the midst of the fire and be there with them, thus delivering them gloriously. Let no man teach the Church escapes problems, we are not appointed to God's wrath but we certainly go through enough problems in our Christian life, delivered only by faith in and of Christ. Read the Bible, prayerfully, beseeching God to reveal the Truth and you shall be saved from all doctrine contrary to God's. In Jesus precious name and for the sake of His Church. Amen.

I have heard this in the dispensationalism.The problem I have is who are the Saints in Rev 13:7 /Dan 7:8 And 14:12 The patience of the Saints; 8:3-4; Rev 11:18; If Noah and his family was protected from the wrath of God while in the Ark, Cannot God protect the saints in the tribulation to the 7th trumpet? Surely Rev 11:11-15 sounds like the rapture, because verse 18 sounds like the bema seat! Even during the Plagues in Exodus, while the Egyptians were getting judged, it say's that the Children of Israel and their property were protected.

What does Paul mean by the 'last trumpet' in 1 Corinthians 15? That's my only hang up on the pre trib rapture

John MacArthur has explained that trumpets were a frequent part of life for Jews. Trumpets were used to herald special events and to summon His people. John MacArthur considers the "last trumpet" -- of *1 Corinthians 15:51* -- to be the last trumpet for the calling of His people-- to summon all His people who had lived through Old Testament and New Testament times, and the church age, and that it does not necessarily meaning the last trumpet to ever be sounded. // I have John MacArthur's commentary on this passage. He wrote: "this trumpet . . . . will . . . be the last as far as living Christians are concerned, for it will sound the end of the church age, when all believers will be removed from the earth. . . . By that trumpet God will summon all of His people to Himself."

The “elect” clearly go through the tribulation per Mark 13:19-20 KJV. The word elect means “select” its root being “ek” in the Greek which is the same root for the word ekklesia (church).

At last! someone in these comments who is saying the truth! As difficult as it is to hear. It's similar to when Jesus said: "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup [of divine wrath] from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.” None of us want to go through the tribulation but not our will but God's will. The Tribulation is for the believers but not every followers of Christ will die. Reason why the ones alive will be raptured after the resurrected believers. The wrath of God is for the world (whoever takes the mark of the beast) and antichrist.

#revealingtruth Hi Sean this seems to be different to the scripture in Matthew you explained in your video on the rapture. Maybe you can clear this up. He says there is no mention of the church from a certain point in Revelation

"Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly." Like 21:32-34 Jesus said He was talking His listeners about these events happening in their lifetime.

When you can tell me the parable of the "fig tree" then you'll know the meaning and context of the phrase "this generation." Also, notice in Matthew 21 that Jesus cursed the "fig tree" which when you understand the parable tells you it wouldn't be in their lifetime. 32 times in the OT the term "fig tree" or "fig" is used. Every time it's in relation to the Jewish people and the Promised land of Israel, either entering it, living in it, being exiled from it, or returning to it. Daniel 7, 9 tells us when Jesus returns at His 2nd Coming there has to be a Temple in Jerusalem just as Jesus references in Matthew 24:15. And there has to be Jews in Judea for them to flee who are concerned about the Sabbath. If this was about Christians fleeing as some believe we wouldn't be concerned about the Sabbath, but the Jews are. By understanding the parable of the Fig tree, Jesus was clear the Temple would be destroyed and the fig tree would die. Which happened in 70AD-135AD. But Jesus says the fig tree will bloom again and then when that happens watch the signs for His return. Jeremiah 24: whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans. 6 For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. Well in 1948 the Jews returned to the Promised Land. Which doesn't mean we have to agree with their politics. However, as Christians who understand that the Promised Land is God's Land (Leviticus 25:23, 2 Chronicles 6:5-6, Joel 3:1-2) we should pay attention as to why after 1800+ years the LORD allowed them back into the Land and has prospered them? I believe the answer is that now is the time we are to watch for the signs of His coming. Hope this helps. Take care.

Yes, Philadelphia Rev.3:10 is the church that is raptured, Jeremiah 7 describes whom God kicks out of the church at the time of the rapture.

No, the church is not the bride. Read Revelation 21. The church is the body whom Jesus is the head. If Jesus be the bridegroom and the church is the body of Christ, that would make the church the body of the bridegroom not the bride.

God saved Noah from the flood, snatched Lot out of Sodom, and Israel from the judgements upon Egypt. So why would He not rapture His saints before the tribulation?

[Keep] from Strong's Greek 5083 téreó: Definition: I keep, guard, observe, watch over. Not to remove. While it is a pleasant thought that the church would be removed and would not have to go through the tribulation, I think that it is wise to expect to do so. If not, well great, but we need to prepare for the expectation that we are. Get in the word, draw close to Jesus. Think about what you will have to do/what it will cost to not take the mark. What if the mark is like an I.D card and you can't bank/own property/shop without it. Are you prepared to live off the land or do what it takes to stay in the faith? Food for thought. It will not be easy. Prayers and Blessings to all.

Very good response Proverbs 3:5&6 offers more hope than this preacher does . John 14:21 is easy to understand We need to be like the wall builders in Nehemiah. They built the wall with one hand and carried a weapon in the other. Noah built the ark with the lord’s instructions. 120 years of construction Plenty of Room for more than. 8 people . So keep working out your salvation. Be ready with a hopefilled answer with respect to all that ask . Be a soldier and ready To be use the word of eternal life. John MacArthur is just Guessing .

Rosearion - Noah Built the ark over a period of 120 years - I think that is correct. There was plenty of room in the ark for more than 8 people. It did grieve God to see sin going on at that time. People killing their babies in fire pits. Perverted acts Sarcastic disrespect. 120 years of preparation . We today have so much More - since Christ did come . And ascend back to heaven. We know Gods love is perfect. He transformed the apostle Paul . Paul did a lot of writing In prison . He asked us to follow him as he follows Christ. He admonished us to avoid comparing ourselves to others. We have Jude 24&25. A precious promise. We have recorded documentation of the advent of Jesus Christ even beyond the pages of the scriptures . We have Jerusalem . Israel’ We are blessed. We don’t need to fear When the rapture will happen. We are more precious to God than good that perishes.

After watching this video 4 years ago, I have now read the Bible several times and it’s now clear to me that the rapture is synonymous to the second coming. (same event) Jesus said the Kingdom is here now. We are in the Kingdom now. For a deeper commentary on the book of revelation chapter 20. I found G .K Beale to be the most helpful, followed by the book “a case for a-millennialism” Kim riddlebarger. Although mc Arthur gets the rapture wrong, he is still clear on the gospel that teaches that God saves sinners through Christ.

Part 1/2 I am not here to attack anyone but one of the problems I see in the Church today is that very few Christians know the story of Scripture. If you don't understand the story, you'll never understand Eschatology. I'm going to post an excerpt of my comment above for you to consider. "I would also add that in Zechariah 14 we see the 2nd Coming especially in verses 16-17 16 And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain." This to me, shows me that John 14:1-6 is definitely a separate event and that Post-Tribulation is not logical. Acts 1:9 Now when He (Jesus) had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” "...This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” "in like manner" Did Jesus ascend to Heaven on a white horse? With the armies of Heaven? In a blood-dripped robe? Rev 19:11-16 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in [f]fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. There's nothing in Rev 19 that could be construed as "like manner" in Acts 1. The problem with Amillennialism as I understand it, is that Zechariah 14 and like passages show a literal kingdom on earth which as far as I know Amills don't believe. If I'm wrong please correct me. Zechariah 14 also says in verse 9 And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be-“The Lord is one,” And His name one. what is the story of Scripture? In Genesis 1 God created the Heavens and the Earth. In verse 28, the LORD willingly gave us His dominion over His creation of earth over to us. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” The LORD has always been Sovereign over all reality, but in Genesis, He gave the dominion of the earth to us. Our free will now dictated the direction humanity would go. We in turn gave that authority to the enemy. Leaders of nations gave their allegiance to the enemy. We see this at the Tower of Babel. This is why when Jesus was tempted by Satan and offered the "kingdoms of the earth" in exchange for worship, Jesus never disputed Satan's claim. Satan had that authority we were given to offer the kingdoms of the earth. Matthew 4 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 2 Cor 4:3-4 (Post Resurrection) 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. This is why the Disciples asked about the "end of the age" and the LORD"s return Matthew 24 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Why does Jesus tell us He's with us to the end of the age? Matthew 28 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. At the 2nd Coming that "age" of mankind, the end of the age of mankind and Satan's authority on earth ends. Now this next section doesn't prove that these views are correct, but one of the things that baffle me today is that many Christians think Dispensational Premillennialism is a couple of hundred years old when it's not. We have numerous early church fathers' writings showing what they believed and taught. Again, not proof it's correct. But if you have disciples of the Apostles writing in the first and second centuries of what they believed and taught I think that would at least be something we'd consider. (continued in part 2)

Part 2/2 Church father Irenaeus wrote about 180AD. He was taught under Polycarp, the disciple of the Apostle John, and occasionally saw the Apostle John. Irenaeus wrote a five-volume work entitled “Against Heresies” against the cults of his day. “When in the end that church will suddenly be caught up from this, then it is said, ‘There will be tribulation such as not been since the beginning, nor will be.’” Irenaeus “Against Heresies 5.29 Ephraim 373 AD “…because all saints and the elect of the LORD are gathered together before the Tribulation which is about to commence be taken to the LORD…” On the Last Times 2-Ephraim the Syrian 373 AD. Lactantius in 304AD in his commentary of the Apocalypse that Rev 6:14 is when "the Church shall be taken away” Irenaeus writes about dispensational premillennialism. As I showed he wrote about 180AD and was a disciple of Polycarp who was a direct disciple of the Apostle John. “In 2 Thessalonians, the ‘falling away’ is an apostasy and there will be a literal rebuilt temple. In Matthew [chapter 24], the ‘abomination spoken by Daniel’ is the Antichrist sitting in the temple as if he were Christ. The abomination will start in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week and last for a literal three years and six months. The little horn [11th] is the Antichrist. Against Heresies 5.25 Many early church fathers' also had a certain view on when the 2nd Coming would be. These excerpts are from Ken Johnson's book "The end times by Ancient Church Fathers" where he documents what the early church fathers believed. Again it doesn't mean it's correct but I find it interesting how many early church fathers wrote on the topic and described their understanding in detail and it was what we'd call dispensational premillennialism today. Barnabas, AD First Century “Therefore, children, in six days, or in six thousand years, all the prophecies will be fulfilled. Then it says, ‘He rested on the seventh day.’ This signifies at the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus, He will destroy the Antichrist, judge the ungodly, and change the sun, moon, and stars. Then He will truly rest during the Millennial reign, which is the seventh day.” Epistle of Barnabas 15:7-9 Commodianus, AD 240 “We will be immortal when the six thousand years are completed.” Against the Gods of the Heathens 35 “Resurrection of the body will be when six thousand years are completed, and after the one thousand years [millennial reign], the world will come to an end.” Against the Gods of the Heathens 80 Victorinus, AD 240 “Satan will be bound until the thousand years are finished; that is, after the sixth day.” Commentary on Revelation 20.1-3 Methodius, AD 290 “In the seventh millennium we will be immortal and truly celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.” Ten Virgins 9.1 Johnson, Ken. The End-Times by the Ancient Church Fathers (p. 11-12). Again, you're free to believe what you want and you're right this in no way impacts our salvation but we are to test every teaching, and I as what many would call a dispensational premill, I have to examine every teaching from Pastors and books like the "Left Behind" series which to me is very inaccurate and Americanized. In John 13:19 Jesus says 19 "Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am." The number 1 purpose of Bible prophecy is to lead unbelievers to believe in the LORD, the I AM, and be saved. This means that Bible prophecy is literal just as Jesus, literally fulfilled over 100 OT prophecies, just as Noah's ark was built exactly to the size that Scientists today have verified it would have floated and held the required species and cargo needed. Just as Daniel 9 tells us that between the "command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem" which happened in Nisan 445BC (the month of Passover) that there would be 173,880 days until the Messiah the Prince suffered the death penalty, but not for Himself (Nisan Passover 32AD). Not everything in the Bible is literal, but Bible prophecy is. Predictions about what is to come whether it was the Flood, or the Messiah, or the 2nd Coming is ALWAYS literal. Jesus confirms this in John 13:19. Paul also tells us this in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, "according to the Scriptures" in other words as it is written. Seems pretty plain and easy to understand. Not sure why folks bend over backwards to explain this away...
