He just waffles, no matter the subject, he'll slag anything down, without any solutions. We work too long because this government keeps hiking the cost of living up, once again the spineless tories are picking on the poor & working classes. This bedroom tax will become camerons downfall, just like thatcher & her poll tax

As an American I enjoy a British perspective on politics. I liked when he mentioned four years. Most Americans are so naive and lazy that they constantly vote against their own best interests.

@castlemedic As I was saying, I'm now a free-lance English language teacher, a (happy) single mother, I live in a cosy and chic studio flat right in the town centre (1000Euros monthly rent), my son has always attended private international schools (both the German school and the American International school), eat only organic food which is (at least in Italy) far more expensive than ordinary food. By the way children do wear Armani at school but also Trussardi, Dolce&Gabbana e cosi' via.

@madcapoperator I believe he said of Italy "the country has gone to hell" and described the italian situation as chaos. He was not using it as an example of a prosperous nation He was merely making the point that politics is better when the margins are slim as the political parties have to perform and appeal outside of their core voters.

@castlemedic Mio caro castellomedico, my name is Vincenza Gala I was born in italy and have lived here (in Italy) all my life-except for the 8 years I spent in London. Being raised in a working-class family (in Italy) I still managed to get a very good (state) education, got my " Maturita' " (high school diploma) then left for London and enrolled at Westminster University where I studied to become a teacher. Back in Italy I now am a free-lance English teacher...to be continued

You might be right. Hands up. I was full of drink when I posted this and other flippant comments. What galls me about The Sex Pistols is that I was alive and interested when they vomited into pop. It was dangerously exciting ! The 'Swindle' disclaimer/distancing/caveating was confusing at the time, and lies lame in retrospect. I hope I wasn't mean about John Lydon : I can't dislike him.

Johnny Soften indeed, lol. The band Killing Joke, who i still admire, had a name for people that started off with values of honesty and integrity in the rock world but eventually conformed and sold out their principles, it was the Killing Joke, ironically that band fronted by the charismatic Jaz Coleman never did sell out, but Mr.Lydon who i suspect would like an honour from the establishment, has , Perry and Gaga ffs what a let down he turned out to be.

The SWINDLE album came out on the heels of that notoriety. Turned out The Clash were a far more interesting band : NOTHING AWAY FROM COOK,JONES,GLEN. Sid Vicious was the poster boy. God rest HIM. If John Lydon is today's articulate cynic : close the pen : kill us all : him before me. The poison emptiness of his non-message isn't butter-fuelled art. It's nothing.

Italy..slums..what are you talking about?? even working-class children go to school in their Armani outfits...state schools are very good, food is excellent, some people live in amazing Renaissance buildings, the north of Italy is one of Europe's richest regions...working-class and middle-class standards of living are much higher than in Britain for example (and I'm sure in the US as well). In England the working-class has a very very hard life..I don't think you've been to Italy!

How are people praising this 2 minutes of stereotyped surface whining? Seems incoherent, nonsense ranting at vague elites gets ignorant people off these days. There is so much they haven't learned that they give up and just cheer on fools like this. It's okay to be amused by John Lydon, the way we are amused by clowns and raunchy comedians, but there is nothing to be learned. Sad
