Why has the studio refused to make this available to stream on amazon prime, netflix, Vudu and KZread?

Chock-full of inaccuracies but like most 80's movies it was fun and entertaining to watch

They must have known there was NO WAY he would have actually set off the bomb even if shot, if it meant killing 20 million people.

well i seriously doubt the US military would have been able to call his bluff nor would they even choose too. because when it comes to nuclear weapons (even if its one built by a high school teenager) they do not want to take that chance.

well when you're in a pinch you kind of have to wing it basically. but if i were him, i would have just kept the bomb on me until paul got away. then if there wasn't any other alternative, id just turn the key and give them the one finger salute right before the timer hits 0

For the movies without a sequel. Wonder whatever happened next? Here is your answer. Well, it wasn't THAT simple for Dr. Matthewson. Unfortunately, he endured several months of congressional investigations, public scrutiny, and he was stripped of his security clearance. His career in ruins, he and Elizabeth tried dating afterwards, but the stress of the events proved to be too much for either of them, and their relationship was short-lived, only lasting for another 2 months. Paul made headlines but in the aftermath was forced to serve several hours of community service and his movements would be tracked by the government for the next 7 years. After washing out of MIT (after getting a scholarship largely due to his publicity), Paul fell into a deep battle with depression and substance abuse. He eventually moved to Florida where he worked at a surf shop in Daytona Beach before overdosing on heroin. Elizabeth later moved to be near family in Carmel, Indiana where she eventually rekindled an old relationship from high school and remarried. Dr. Matthewson relocated and became a Professor of Particle Physics at the University of Cincinnati. He never remarried and died suddenly of a massive heart attack. He was found slumped over in a running shower in his home by one of his students who he was reportedly involved in a relationship with. The End.
