Hi Jeff, I was born 1965 on Vale Rd, almost backing on to Mimi's. It was the 4 that went up Church Rd from Penny Lane. 46 and 99 terminated at the shelter. . I went to Out Lane with kids from Strawberry Fields. I remember a garden party there as a very young kid 3 or 4 and seeing rows of tiny washbasins. The barbers was Biolettis in the 60s. He had pictures of the Beatles up. Used to get a sherbet fountain in the sweet shop next door if I sat still. I went to the Bluecoat and still have ptsd 😉. Mates who went to Gatacre Comp had a better time. Nobody mentioned the Beatles when I was growing up. I got the bus on Menlove avenue every day for years and never knew why all the graffiti was there. It was a great place to grow up. Enjoy your stuff Jeff. Peace.

You've got to be a clever lad to get in the Bluecoat, hats off to you. You're right nobody really talked about the Beatles back then, we didn't realise what we had or how to market it. Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video.

Thank you for the tour. It’s now 3 years later & the Pandemic is over As an American, I’d appreciate your next tour to linger at the Beatles’ properties so we have a chance to actually see them.

Good video. I grew up in Garston and Speke in the 60's. I believe George Harrison lived fairly close to where I lived in Speke, one of the closes or greens. I lived in Penketh Green right off Tarbock Road. The flats have been knocked down now and there is a Morrisons there now. I attended Childwall Valley H.S. for girls so I was very familiar with the Woolton area. My best friend lived in Wavertree and I would go to her house after school sometimes. I'm now living in California but I.m still a Liverpudlian at heart.

Thanks for the comment, pleased you liked the video. The Harrisons moved to Speke for about 10 years or so, then moved to Mackets Lane Hunts Cross during the 60's.

Loved the Abbey and Picton's baths. The drunks lockup is iconic.

Nice stroll around some cool landmarks. 7:00 Ringo was a few months older than John Lennon. Born 7th July 1940.

Hi Tony, Yeah you're right, Ringo was the eldest Beatle by a few months. I checked the dates too before making the video. I must be going a bit doolally. Thanks for pointing it out.👍

I was born February 1940. The HQ for the Atlantic Convoys to protect shipping was operated in Exchange Flags behind the Liverpool Town Hall. The R Mersey on a moonlit night was a fine marker for the Luftwaffe. 6milesof Docks from Pier Head up north to Bootle and Seaforth. Menlove Avenue wasnt working class upto The Derby Arms to Woolton Village. My father's family came from Woolton Village. I had a Mickey Mouse gas mask.(not sure if wld have made any difference)! Lived in the Abbey cinema, in the 50s, very elegant. saw Roman Holiday, Guys and Dolls plus. I knew John Lennon's school friend Peter Shotton who lived in Vale Rd. Took me to the pictures and gave me a record for my 18th birthday. Never met John Lennon 💌

Could you one day film the Beatles magical mystery tour from start to finish? I always wonder where it goes.

That bus shelter has had a huge makeover since the 1960’s. The hairdressers was ‘Bioletti’s’ back in the day.

Hi Jeff great video I just thought I’d mention John Lennon wasn’t actually the eldest Beatle out of the four it was actually Ringo Starr he was born in July 1940 John was born yes in October 1940 then it was Paul born in 1942 in June then George was the youngest being born in February 1943 just thought I’d mention that if you see this comment. Look forward to many more of your great videos Jeff keep up the good work. Also Liverpool maternity hospital wasn’t Scottie Road it was near metropolitan cathedral just into Oxford street I know that because I was born there and so was my mum. Hope that helps.

73 definitely did go around the world but it went through Taggart Avenue, back of King David. Maybe the 78 Halewood?

I honestly can't remember the full 73 route. I know it did Ullet Road and Princes Avenue but how it got there is a bit vague. You're probably right and I possible mix it with the 78 route too.
