I still believe love is one of the most powerful things in the world. Goes down to the soul. More than sex. Something each of us interpret differently. Sometimes I think love is linked to the soul and in a way gives me faith there's some kinda god. Cause why do I have a soul? Why do I love? It does help that he married an actual model lol No seriously, I can understand why artists generally don't include their spouses. Some people prefer to keep their relationships private because so much of their life is already so public. I also think it can kind of help a video to have unknown actors portraying "generic lovers". I think viewers can more easily relate to the story being told and picture their own relationships that way, rather than the song seeming to just belong to that artist and their spouse, ya know? Like, I personally feel this was a song John wrote for Chrissy and I don't quite feel the personal connection to it, like I might with another. It almost feels intrusive to relate it to myself, like I'm encroaching on someone else's intimate moment. And of course, there's the obvious reason: divorce. No one goes into a marriage anticipating a divorce, but realistically, you have to acknowledge the possibility. Additionally, celebrity marriages have the odds stacked against them and it has to be a consideration to any artist. In that case, if they were to separate, the video and song would take on an awkward connotation that couldn't be undone. So it's just safer for most not to make it personal. Though I have to agree, they're adorable 😊
