Written in The Stars is such a great surprise for me and yet, huge disappointment since SM didn't promote it at all. Such a beautiful song.

The good ol days of SM.Wendy's song was part of their old SMStation project. They would put out a single every Friday, often times collaboration with tons of different artists around the industry. Taeyeon had a few, Wendy, Baekhyun,Wheein,Heize, Exo,etc

These two songs are so so sooooo beautiful. What a great couple of songs, and such an incredible duet. A collab I didn't know about until way too late was Wendy with Ricky Martin - not in the same category as Written in the Stars for me but still definitely worth listening and appreciating at some point. It's always a blessing to hear Wendy

2017's full album Perfect Velvet is straight up R&B, and it was repackaged in '18 with Bad Boy & Time to Love (& All Right). I like all the TTL lives more than the studio tbh. There are four minis between The Red and PV, and I'm looking fwd to your reactions! Joy blew up on the interwebs during Peek-a-Boo era as "the K-pop girl in the rainbow dress." Her year-end appearances were legendary. Wendy calls her "sexy dynamite." 💚 WITS is a vibe of a song, but imo the similarity to Best Part was a huge drawback, which is a shame. I mean, it was released almost same day that BP hit #1 in Billboard's AR&B. And BP was released way back in '17 (in two albums to boot) so idk what SM's A&R was thinking, unless they didn't really intend for WITS to hit big, wc fine it's "just" an SM station song but the Legend brand is a waste. Anyway, when BP went viral in '19, WITS receded even further. A bit of trivia, WITS was co-written by Kiana Lede, who Wendy says (190818 ig live) sang the guide too and did the directing in LA. Really like to hear more of Wendy singing R&B (those are her roots), and she's said she wants brighter songs on her second solo, but seems that SM has other plans. 💀 (PS, Irene could appear chilly, but she's a dork in their docu-series Level Up Project!, I mean they're all dorks there, with Wendy prob being the siliiest -- she's always extra -- and Irene's designated happy pill)
