Always fun to se the opinions of everyone! I can hardly think that Jeremy Flores, the guy who has been suspended for yelling at the judges, the guy who might be the most underscored on the CT, would be overscored in a final against the favorite surfer of our time, the gentle and humble genius JJF... pointless debate anyway, it was the best final i have seen in a looooooong time. Flores has been sooooo patient from 17’, he kept priority to wait for the wave that could maybe beat JJF! Great strategy

When you look at John John's other barrels that didn't even make his top 2 wave scores they were equivalent if not better than flores buzzer beater. Shame. The judges should be required to provide the analysis on why they scored that wave SO much higher. It's sad to see, John John owned that heat the entire time, no question, he was robbed. Terrible judging from the WSL with no rhyme or reason explaining the unjustified flores buzzer beater score... tune me out, thank you.

Completely agree, I just watched this final. I guess due to it being a last second wave gave it more significance, but that barrel was just as the same as all the ones John John had that weren't scored. Shouldn't have been like that

Yea why so much claiming these days? There is still some nice face on that wave to gain a few more valuable points in a competition where heats are being won by decimals... Not to mention it just looks so much better when JJF flies out of the barrel and lays into that lip! So lame to see Jeremy get the score on that one.

You guys need to take your bias glasses off. That was absolutely a 8.33 if not better. Flores was deeper in his last barrel then John John was in any of his. John John definitely had the best session and if you totaled all his waves up he would have destroyed Flores. But they only count the 2 best waves...

Sick comeback and barrel from Jeremy Flores! The 5 judges are not colluding to give certain surfers wins. Subjectively judged sports will always be controversial, which makes it fun to watch and talk about.

jeremys 1st wave was better than his 2nd, but the judges gave him a higher score for his 2nd one. the judging criteria needs to be reconsidered for the wsl.

potatoes63 I have a feeling that the WSL knows that the judging criteria is still prone to failure. The fact that the judges identity is a hidden secret says it all. If professional surfing is to flourish they need to fix this. Too many head scratchers and wtf's.

I only appreciate how much the surf of these two is charming and at the same time siiick, I know that like any sport there is a dispute and this healthy rivalry that has what to have, just like it was with Kelly x Andy .. but just think we should not fight taking merit from one another, it is not up to us viewers to decide the note of each as each of us have different opinions .. CONGRATULATIONS JHON JHON, CONGRATULATIONS GABRIEL

Watched from the beach. No way Flores' last wave scored higher than 8.00. John got robbed. This is shameful. Black eye for the WSL. No confidence in judging these events. WSL needs to correct, bring fairness to judging. Otherwise, the sport will suffer. My 16 year old son watched with me and his view of the WSL is substantially lower that it was at the start of the final day. Totally shameful when our youth see judging isn't fair!
