This is the John Hopkins glacier calving on September 19, 2014. A calving this size has not been seen for over 30 years. This was observed from our cabin balcony on the Island Princess. Outstanding !!

We were on the same cruise. This was the most amazing thing we have ever seen, and there is no video that can express what our eyes seen and our hearts felt. We are very blessed to have been given this opportunity.

Not so big really. Shallow water, not a lot of ice. That close, a big one in another location would have swamped the boat.
