I work in the oil field and I question the possibility of the oil PPB will almost double in less than 5 months. I hope I am proven wrong. Thank you for the videos Mr. Pickens.

Please let John know that I need some Naphtha if he still has connections for physical fuels? Thanks, D-

great video. i think they're right on most things. Except I do see mass consumer adoption of the EV. As for the battery issues, seems like Tesla is paving the way with the Gigafactory. But I do agree, we need to use all available resources for energy.

Why should the GIgafactory produce cheaper batteries than the rest of the world. Get real.

? huh? I don't think they were talking about cost but rather the ability to scale battery production for mass consumer EV adoption. Hofmeister was stating he doesn't see how they could possibly do this, in addition to other problems such as disposing used batteries. If you follow what Musk is doing, he's setting up Tesla to not just be a vehicle company but more as a renewable energy company ie the SolarCity acquisition & Powerwall. Tesla will most likely manufacture batteries for other car companies who want to transition into the EV market as well.

***** If you dont reduce the cost drastically (and increase energy density), EVs wont become a mass market product. Tesla is only alive because it has access to cheap money via stock sales. Once trhat ends, they will be bankrupt within a year.

+Paul van de Loo yea... i think elon n his smart people at tesla will solve this problem via vertical integration of battery manufacturing. (ie gigafactory) this is a guy who is launching nasa resupply missions to ISS at 3% of the cost via reusable rockets. But since ur such a brillant guy, who has accomplished so much in your life for humanity, go ahead and short Tesla stock.

***** I am not short Tesla stock. I never short stocks, I only go long. So your argument is basically an appeal to authority. How surprising! There is no reason to suspect that Musk can achieve greater cost savings than industry average. Since industry average costs for batteries are too high to make electric cars viable and since energy density is much too low, there is every reason to suspect that Musk will fail with Tesla, just like he did with Solarcity, which he just had to bail out.

if oil goes to 100, as an investor I will be a happy camper. i do agree that i think natural gas is the fuel of the future. but oil will be around longer then we think.

No, price of oil will stay low especially if my engine is adapted. Compete on BTU basis, not type of fuel as engine can take any. 200-400 mpg cars on NG is the future. Small airplanes on NG for less than 700 mile and liquid for 800-2400 mile ranges. No need for oil for transit with my engine. 95 million barrel to less than 10 million at best, mostly for plastics. NG is the future, not oil for transit. Engine has tanks includes as system...tanks are part of brake recovery. The world will run on NG and electricity and oil will be for long range airplanes and plastics. We suffer from people in leadership who have no idea how to solve this problem. All it takes is ONE smart rich guy (100 mil+) to actually listen to me and get this engine done. The game will totally change. The question is whether Pickens will listen to me or not. There has to be at least 1000 people who could help me get this done. NG can be 1/4th the price of Diesel and this engine could double (1.8-3.3 times) efficiency.... 8:1 cost over Diesel. No trucking company would run with 8 times more costly fuel. Sorry wont' happen. With my engine, they ALL go NG or go out of business....

Dept. of Interior, Energy, and the State Dept. isn't an energy plan for switching over to natural gas for Big trucks and cars. Deplorable.
