I ‘m smilin’ too. Love this

commented 2 years ago, since then had to have my prostate removed due to cancer, all good now. This song still makes me smile and helped push me through the tough times. And I am not over the hill and i will keep smiling

John Hiatt proves again with this song, that you don't need difficult chords or some impressive riff to tell a story, this sounds so groovy it standss of its own, just a man with his guitar, drums, bass and an organ, it does the trick ! Don't you just love this.....

For anyone who's interested, the wonderful JJ Cale inspired guitar work is done by Yates McKendree, son of the keyboardist and producer on this album, Kevin McKendree. The kid was 16 when they cut this track! He was also the engineer on the album. Talk about talented. His dad was the longtime bandleader for Delbert McClinton.

If the music is this good, I want to go over the hill with him. We'll leave the current musical wasteland behind and bask in sublime blues rock like this. I was happy to find an autographed copy of the LP at Barnes and Noble.

Yep, we know a couple that named their daughter, “Georgia Rae”

We went on the road fulltime in 2017 in our RV and one of the first things we did was drive to Madras OR for the eclipse. Now we're still on the road and there is another one coming up next month in April 2024. In all that time I lost touch with John Hiatt until I just now found this album. Just like old times only now chilling here on our place Rancho Sueño Azul in Baja. In the meantime I've heard a lot of weak music trying to stay in touch with new performers, I had almost forgotten how musicians used to actually play their instruments! I last saw John perform in Redding CA, it was a great show,I remember him telling the audience that they felt more comfortable there because 'they were inland people'. But a few years before back in the 90s I was walking to work one morning through the Tenderloin in San Francisco when I encountered him coming my way on the sidewalk. So cool to just encounter him on the street! Things like that happened a lot in the City back then. I'm 69 now but definitely not Over The Hill, going out kite surfing today on the Sea of Cortez for my 33rd session this year. It's been a Slow Turning alright...hey hey hey!

i happened to walk up on this video being recorded between vanderbilt appointments. i had take a lunch break with a friend. i just stood there in awe. when they were through, john came and talked with us about life. a great memory. a great song and one heck of a songwriter!

There's more musicians than can be heard in this world, but still only a handful of great songwriters. Thank you, John Hiatt.

Man I love me some John Hiatt

How appropriate to discover this song on the day I begin my 60th year on this planet. I work with a crew of 30 something's. They think I'm old but they can't out work me. Wouldn't trade places with them. They missed growing up with John Hiatt, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Brown, Carly Simon and all the greatest songwriters from the early days of FM radio. Got to see John and Lyle Lovett pre-covid. The stories of the road were as much fun as the music. Better to be over the hill...than under it!

What a great song. John Hiatt is the gift which keeps on giving.

I saw him twice live. Great show. Even though he is well known, he deserves far more recognition. Brilliant.

I think this is the best all-around album to come out in years.

Every note and lyric is candy to my soul.

I love this song and this video. I accidentally came upon part of the shoot for this. I was in Nashville for cochlear implant follow up. I watched patiently and was just in awe. After the shoot was over John and a couple of his staff came and talked with my friend and I. What a wonderful memory we made that day. Thanks again John for everything.

I also thought, "Great nod to JJ Cale". And yes, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame put this guy in it! Cant wait to see him do it live at HoB in New Orleans next month

I just heard this on Spotify when I was in the gym. I am 58 and this song made me smile. I am growing older yes but I am not going down without a fight. Now I can't stop listening to it. Anyone calls me over the hill, I will just smile, I know better lol!

I myself played the Piano in small Bands, and I always tryed to see you giving Concerts either in England or Holland. I became 73 yrs in December and stil Music is the first I listen to in the Morning and all Day long. Please go on making Music so I can buy your Music, I have them all. my 75th birthday and I discover this one...this takes some gettin' used too...

I've loved this wonderful, super talented man since the 80s when I first heard Living a Little, Laughing a Little - his duet with Elvis Costello. His song writing is second to none and I love the gruffness yet purity of his voice. I hope he'll be around, singing and song writing, for many years to come. He looks so frail in this video though so I hope he's in good health.

I met John Hiatt and his band in a restaurant in Melbourne. They were so polite to me and my family.

John Hiatt is an Icon... This Cat has been pumping out Fantastic music for generations.. Ageless, Lipstick Sunset could've been written tomorrow. Bonnie Raitt pretty much made it because of Johns songs [ more than1 ] she made huge hits... A true Musicians Musician... Thanks Johnny.

I hear ya, man. John Hiatt and his writing have meant a miner's ton to me for over three decades. He is to songwriting what Raymond Carver is to short fiction. Nicely done vid with great visual touches.

John is always such a class act. Truly one of the great american songwriters, I've seen him 3 times & it's always a treat. I used to play a dozen of his songs, now I'm just over the hill.

The most amazing performance We ever had the pleasure of being part of was at the LL Bean Summer Concert Series , Thanks John Hiatt for performing the music that put Cold Play in the awards ! You should have kept and recorded that for yourself . You and your band did it much better ! Cant wait to see you back in Maine !
