I feel you. When I start writing a novel, my original and final drafts compare like this: Original: Realistic plot, realistic problem, realistic climax, one of the main characters turns on one of the others and murders them, Final: Realistic plot, realistic problem, realistic climax, one of the characters either moves away or dies due to disease.

Yeah in the book he was pissed about a doctor saying "well at least your not going to be deaf". And he was like "Thank you for explaining that taking out my eye wont make me deaf. Im in such good hands."

Catherine Harrison well If that's what you choose to believe. I personally let the story live endlessly in time from where it left. If u are the type of person to need closure then imagine it any way u want but imagining she dies soon after Gus is kinda a shity way to do so. And don't ruin other peoples imaginations by replying to comments where they didn't ask for what "supposedly" happens after the book. It's kinda rude and can ruin someone's day/thoughts on the book

+laura brown I don't need closure on a book, I was simply saying something that the author themselves confirmed. There's no need to be so rude, honestly I wasn't saying anything horrible at all, I was replaying information that was relevant to the comment she made. I was hardly ruining something life by saying that and i'd appreciate it if you didn't act like I did, no one has to accept what I said they can continue to imagine what it could be like themselves I'm not forcing this upon them

the deadpan way in which nat affects mock support for john's having tried the first draft ending is INCREDIBLE. i laughed for a good 5 minutes.

He actually swears quite a bit, just not on camera. Well, when he's making CrashCourse or Mental Floss, his outtakes are often filled with swearing. Well, beeped out swearing. :)

I loved your book so much!!! I went to see the movie with my love of my life and he cried. The next day I had an asthma attack and he freaked out!!

I can relate to what John said....I had read the book and knew what was going to happen so I thought I'd be okay watching the movie....I was so wrong! I sat there with tears streaming down my face. Great book and movie!

I feel like it's interesting to talk to an author of a movie adaptation of a book because they can give you other ideas they had while writing and all the inside scoop on where the ideas came from.
