From @2:20 - @3:07 goosebumps out of control!! Everything is so perfect. Feels good and cathartic.

It's just River saying random things. You can find a video where someone has reversed the song and isolated his voice. You can hear him clearly then.

thats so true, ive expended lot of time turning the song to 1:00 and listening to it time and time again... just one note, and he can make us feel like he wants to... its to awesome what he does... i try to say how much i love his music, but i cant find the words...

i feel like his voice is shot on half the album. but the other half it sounds lovely. i really enjoy the ideas hes throwin out. very experimental.

This song is from 1993...he start with heroin when he left peppers. The first half Niandra Lades is from BSSM era. But second half Usually Just A T-Shirt (all untitled) was recorded after peppers. Read about albums on wikipedia before you write something in the comments.

He's been quoted saying that he released Smile From The Streets You Hold for drug money. And a lot of the recording was done during the same time as recording for Niandra Lades. Heroin was the drug of choice. According to Frusciante, he "was stoned for every single note I played on the album." That quote is about Niandra Lades. Watch some videos of him during that time. He was f-ed up quite a bit

Yeah he was stoned - on marijuana not fucking heroin .. John was not using smack when he recorded Blood Sugar or Niandra LaDes :/

yes this was his drug days. It didn't stop him from expressing such great music!

The album was recorded in the area of blood sugar sex magik and the blood sugar sex magik tour when he was off drugs, but the album came out when he was addicted to drugs.

oh ok, but I think i´ve read that most of this songs were recorded before he was addicted to drugs, and only a few songs on "smile from the streets you hold" were recorded at the time he did heroin. ("smile from the streets you hold" because in "niandra lades and usually just a t-shirt" is only the song "running away into you" recorded when he did heroin) He also said in an interview that he didn´t pick up a guitar at the time he was addicted to drugs! It's River Phoenix saying random things... John reversed his voice and put it on this track... It's sort of depressing since John is the one that gave River the drink that killed him...

during this yes, hed lost alot of/all of his teeth from the coke he started and he did hed been doing heroin for awhile so his arms are still scarred i guess he was sposed to loose his arms from the damage :P
