@@nelsonvontitfuk1471 agree! A lot of ppl think he had no experience in professional music education, but actually he attended GIT for a while and he delved rly deep into music theories (Flea’s original words). The solo of Scar Tissue proves that: he combined Dorian and minor modes so that he has in total eight notes to play and it still sounds well harmonized. And it’s improvised! One without a solid base in music theories could by no means do that!

Johns playing is not about being able to shred like a machine or scaling all over the frets, he's all about expressing emotions through his guitar, and is in my opinion one of the best in the world at that.

  • @AndreasC81

Some might say that he plays very simple, and he does, but then you're certainly missing a lot of other things that differentiates him from the rest. His style is simple, but at the same time, stylish, unique and extremely impressive. He has never had the need for playing more technically that he does as he found his style anyway. It's not the technique that makes him great. It's the uniqness, the sound and the originality.

John actually plays very simple. His technique has Always been simplistic compared to other guitar players that are way more technical in their ability to play. But John is an artist foremost and the way in which he plays those notes is something that only he can do. Thatäs what makes him what he is and not just Another guitar player among millions of other guitar players. He is unique. He takes the simple and lifts it up to Another dimension completely.
